The first shows correct placement of curtains on angled walls as part of a manually build bay window. This was prior to the Eco Living base game update. The second image show a reconstruction, where the curtains are not unable to be placed on the angled wall. This occurs whether or not the adjacent curtain is removed. I'm seeing the same: can't place items (curtains, deco, lights, tv, fire alarm) on a singular diagonal wall. But it's not just the singular diagonal wall.On a singular straight wall, you can place items only exactly in the middle. Slightly left or right with Alt doesn't work, can't place it.On a long straight wall, you can place items about everywhere, except on the outer half of the most left and right wall pieces.On a singular diagonal wall, you can't place these items at all.On a long diagonal wall, you can place items almost everywhere, again except on the outer half of the most left and right wall pieces. But also, you can't place an item on the middle of any wall pieces. You can place items fine on the line between two wall pieces, but not in the middle snappoint of a wall piece. See screenshot.Something is definitely wrong with the middle snap point of diagonal walls. And this started with the Eco Lifestyle pre-patch. Tested this all with a new world (all packs installed, no mods or CC at all) by placing the fire alarm.

I've got the same issue on the premade house of the Goths. The curtains on diagonal walls (with or without windows) no longer go down with walls cutaway view, because the game considers their placement invalid now. They obviously worked before, because it's built like that in the default house.

Sorry for the bump but this is ridiculous. Months and months have passed and this problem hasn't been addressed. Seriously? Old builds I have made don't work anymore if I plop them in. Several Maxis builds have what are now impossibly placed objects on diagonals. I came out of a long building hiatus so I thought this was a recent problem but no!Also I am not using the move objects cheat, I never use that cheat and am not going to because you broke your own game.

That sounds reasonable and explains why some wall decorations are disappearing after loading older houses. As long you guys are aware of the issue and looking into it, I’m good. Let me know if you need more input.

I can repro too but curtains do place if a window is present. I tested on 1 tile diagonal wall and 2 tile diagonal wall, MOO off.

It is possible to place over 2 tiles though:

I don't know if it matters, but my diagonal walls are only one tile, not two. And it has a window on it. I used to be able to do this prior to the patch.

That's great, thanks for the extra pics. There have also been reports of wall deco acting the same way so it may be a bug since the new window placement was introduced in the patch.

I don’t work for EA 🙂 After testing more and seeing other posts about the deco objects I believe this has simply been exacerbated by the window alt placement feature introduced in the June patch. Maybe it is as intended? For now you’ll need to use MOO to get the desired effect.
