[OPEN] Plants revert to dirt piles after tending plants in any way

  • I fertilized a plant and it reverted to a dirt pile immediately. Tried on various plants/trees and used various fertilizers with the same results.
• Have you ever used mods/cc on this save ? 
  • Yes I used a mod that fixed the issue with plants reverting to dirt piles. I removed it when I saw the patch update saying the dirt pile bug was fixed.
• Do you have any kind of gardening help (Bee Box, Rabbits, Birds, ..)
  • Bee Box
• Do you have the great soil lot trait ?
  • Yes but I didn't start with it.
• Do you have the issue with all plants or just plants in planters ?
  • All
• Was it a specific plant that reverted (Cow Plant, Money Tree, ..) or just random ?
  • Any plant I fertilized.
• Do you have any other gardening issues ?
  • I can't fertilize out-of-season plants anymore. Intended?
  • I had an out-of-season tree get bugs, but I couldn't spray the tree/tend the garden because it's out-of-season. Thankfully, it seemed to be a visual only bug and went away.
  • Additionally, weeds have appeared on one of my plants in the vertical planter, which I don't think is supposed to happen. I can't weed it.
  • I also had an indoor plant get weeds, and both my sim and the gardener got stuck in an animation loop attempting to weed the plant without success. When I cancelled the activity on my sim, the plant reverted to a dirt pile.

  • Default, I didn't change them.

  • I clicked "Sell all money fruit". I have 3 trees. just as i started to harvest all, all of my plants reset to dirt piles (except the money trees because I had just sold the fruits)
  • Previously when this happened, all plants reset including my money trees at exactly 7am.

  • My herbs that are planted in my vertical garden is also reverting.

  • Seasons are set to 14 days
• Anything else that comes to mind
  • Sometimes my plants can get stuck in an infinite weed state, so i have to force some of the plants to be "weed free" when they instantly reweed but the weeds can be removed through the normal actions, including by the professional gardener.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By having weeds on a harvestable plant and weeding all.
What happens when the bug occurs? the plant goes back to the first livestage.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the plants at the same growth stage and the flowers/vegtables to stay.

When my sim weeds all the plants and the have something to harvest it resets them to a dirtpile I have never experienced this problem with my mods since they are mostly cas and the script mods I have is mccc, better expectations and xmlInjector these are the script mods I only have installed. Better expectations just make sure any mods are broken that causes problems in the game but it didn't say anything about a bug in the game from mods.

•     Nope, just the opposite: Making a killing off the Dragon Fruit, more simoleons than I can spend, Ha !!

•     It occurs very randomly, only effects a few plants at the time, and not all the time and different plants

Haven't sent you anything since the Mean Bug when I was playing on PS4 ! (the Good Ole Days)

Yeah the dirt pile thing is really spotty/ random on when it wants to hit, I'm mostly seeing it on the Dragon Fruit bushes,

 probably because that what I have the most of.

Most of the time they will turn to dirt after fertilize, have had a few plant revert to the "Sprouted stage"

Best guess is this occurs on maybe 10% of my garden about 10%/20% of the time  (If that makes any sense?)

Anywho, if no one has told you lately how much you you are appreciated, You are VERY MUCH !!!!

I've seen that this bug happened in the past (apparently in four separate moments), and it has returned again, but in a different action.

Whenever i fertilize my garden (bush or tree), the plant reverses to a dirt pile.

The posts here mention "watering" or "traveling to other lots", but I experience this whenever I fertilize them.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Water and/or spray insect repellant on harvestables.
What happens when the bug occurs? Harvestables, both the ones that are ready to be harvested and those yet not ready, turn into dirt piles, but it’s not everything, maybe 6-7/10.
What do you expect to see? My harvestables, that are fully grown (lack of better word) stays that way even if I (my sim) water them and/or spray insect repallant.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

It could be a coincidence. But my sim tended to the harvestables by weeding them first, and they stayed just fine. Then my sim watered them and most of them turned to dirt piles right after. Then my sim used insect repallant on a couple of other harvestables (out of those that didn’t turn to dirt), and then they turned to dirt piles. Like I said above, not everything turnes to dirt piles, more like 6-7 out of 10.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Plant a garden either in pots or the ground. I have multiple save files with the garden tried both ways. Still the plants revert to the planted state when they were full grown a moment before. Then when you go see if other plants are bugged, you get like four choices to interact with your plant when you should have six. I think it excludes take cutting and research as choices, and then I know those plants are also bugged and will revert to the planted state shortly.
What happens when the bug occurs? Usually around 5:50 or so, I'll start harvesting. When I go over to the garden to harvest, a plant will revert to its planted state. The plant in question for the more recent save file was a bonsai tree. I had been able to harvest from it before as it was full grown. The entire lot is sheltered, and I'm using pots in this particular garden; however, I have had this happen without any pots involved and just bare dirt. I usually use the lot traits of homey and great soil, and I did so on the most recent save.
What do you expect to see? My fully grown plants to stay fully grown and continue to be harvestable regardless of the season because the plants are sheltered.

fThe first four images are a previous save file. They show the garden reverted to its planted state for the bugged plants in the first two pictures, and you can see this is occurring during Harvestfest. In the second two pictures it shows what the garden ought to have looked like (after I used testingcheats true and changed my plants back to their blossoming state). Some of those plants had been moved around on the lot. The fifth picture shows my current save file after I fixed the bonsai tree. The roses and other plants were affected, but had not yet returned to the planted state, but I could tell that they would soon by not having all the normal interactions available after my sim had earned the gardening ability to take cuttings. None of the plants in the fifth picture were moved after planting. The fifth picture and most recent save file occurred before Harvestfest.
