@CGrant56 Wonder why they go in hidden households - odd. That would explain why I could not find them. Thanks for letting me know so I will know how to get them back next time. I quit without saving though because I could not find the sims and I really wanted them to still be alive and back in their houses, so I am afraid I can't give you anymore data on new deaths - sorry! It does sound like a bug for sure though that no one else can die except by drowning. I was curious too why the gravestones could not be destroyed.
@GypsyRozLyn When I tried dedeathify the first time, I expected the resurrected sim to join the household of the spellcaster who cast the spell immediately but that didn't happen. Thinking about it though, having it work that way wouldn't work every time if the household of the spellcaster already had 8 sims in it. There just wouldn't be any room for the resurrected sim. So I think what happens is more or less a failsafe to both keep the sim in the game and avoid running into that problem. A little confusing if you don't already know what is going to happen though but it does work.
In my case, it was Minerva Charm who was the dead sim and Tomax Collette who cast the spell. But when Minerva, who is a playable in my game, didn't join Tomax's household, I thought she probably rejoined the rest of her family on her original lot. So I saved and exited and looked at the Charm household and found that she wasn't there. Then I looked in both sections of manage households and she wasn't there either. At that point I was sort of scratching my head wondering where had she gone and wondering if had I lost her. I mean, what would be the point of resurrecting a sim if all that was going to happen is that they came back to life and just disappeared from the game. So I didn't think that was supposed to be the way it worked. So if she wasn't in Tomax's household, her original household, or in manage households, the only place left is hidden households. I didn't want to unhide the hidden households even though I can with MCCC because the last time I did that, I accidently deleted a sim from there and messed up the save (there is a reason those households are hidden in the first place). So I went back to Tomax's household and looked to see if she was still in his rel panel and she was so I invited her over and when she arrived, asked her to join the household. And that worked. Then I just went to manage households and put her back in her original household but kept the urn on Tomax's lot because I noticed that the "Leave a Sugar Skull Offering" was still there and wanted to complete that collection for the that household. I didn't notice that the destroy option was missing at the time.
That is where my current death problem started I think. Later on, I resurrected two more sims with the spell. And then I had another sim get electrocuted and Grimm stopped at the point the urn usually appears and is where I noticed the problem and it hasn't worked since.

@CGrant56Thanks for the details - I was very confused why I could not find them!
Do the bodies just stay there if Grimm does not finish his job or do the sims just pop back to life?
It is rather perplexing - maybe Grimm has the lazy trait and you overworked him!Hope you get an answer or a fix soon.

@GypsyRozLyn What happens is that at the point the urn is supposed to appear and the body disappear, it just stops and Grimm just stands there. The body stays and the sim's portrait remains. The rest of the household just stand there and keep crying. I even put the game on high speed and let it run thinking it might be a lag of some sort but the game pretty much stopped even though time did pass. It was long enough that another sim suffered motive failure and died too. So I exited back to the main menu and reloaded. Fortunately, MCCC had done an autosave few minutes before it happened and I was able to repeat the thing several times trying different things. I tried using a death flower and Grimm seemed to take it but nothing happened. I tried pleading and while it looked like that was successful, nothing happened again. So the next time, I just stopped the sim that died from working at the robot station so she didn't get electrocuted again and went on playing. It happened during that time when the bug with harvestables above normal quality disappearing thing was happening and I thought it might be related to that, but that got fixed and it's still going on. A day or so later, I went into testing mode and started killing off sims using every way the game lets you kill a sim using both ingame ways and ways in a couple of mods I have. Same thing happened except for drowning in Sulani or Brichester. It worked there and the sim disappeared and I got an urn. That type of drowning uses a different animation. So I tried it in a new game with all my mods installed and the death cycle worked just fine every time. Then I went back to my main save and looked at every urn I have in the game and that's when I discovered that the urns of the sims I had resurrected didn't have the destroy option and cannot be deleted in build mode. Every other urn and tombstone does. Doesn't matter if a ghost has been released or kept hanging around. All still had the destroy option and can be deleted in build mode. So I think that somehow there is still some type of connection.
But I am still trying to find out what is actually supposed to happen when that spell is used. I expected the urn to either disappear when the sim came back to life or just be like one where the ghost has been released to the netherworld. I have seen a few comments were people said they no longer have the destroy option and one that asked it the urns disappeared making me wonder if they should. But I still haven't found an answer. I've posted in this thread as well as at the main site and other sites I go to but so far no one else has run into this problem.
Thank you for replying though. Any bit of info I can find helps.

After I was sending his sister to do some homework, my boy went and did a running divebomb into the pool, in a blizzard.
Despite me teleporting him next to the fire immediately, he froze to death "whilst swimming" on our living room carpet.
Mum did a necrocall and got his ghost, was able t invite him back to the household but despite knowing the spell, dedethify is not showing up on his ghost...nor urn.
In fact, there is no option for magic on him at all!
