Yes, this is definitely still a problem and has been since the launch of the pack. I too went in to buydebug and was able to see all 20 wands, so I know they exist, but after hours an hours of playing specifically to get the wands and the brooms, I cannot get the 10 wands that have been referenced over and over in these comments. I also I think it’s strange that we would be having such issues finding the wand recolors when 5 of the ones that we have not been able to find are considered to be common items. We should have been able to find them by now.
I understand what is being said in regards to the collection being marked as completed by design. We have seen this with other collections where you only need to get a certain base number and not every single one for the collection to be marked as completed. The difference between the magical artifacts collection and the others is that no matter how hard we seem to try, we cannot collect those last 10 wands. Therefore, we cannot fully complete the collection.
I see that others have shared their game files in other threads that have been closed and merged, but I would be happy to share mine if still needed. I have taken pictures of the collection so that you can see the ones we cannot find in game play.
I just discovered this issue today as I haven't paid much attention to the collection. I completed the collection as designed which is fine but I have not found any of the recolors of the 10 wands. They are in debug but I would much rather collect them through gameplay. It seems like they just weren't categorized to randomly show up at the store or during duels, etc. An oversight, but one that should have been corrected long ago.
@rlc77Yes, that is exactly what I experienced. I was able to go into buydebug to verify that the 10 recolors actually exist in the game. I purchased them as well and they fully completed my collection. I exited without saving because, like you, I do not want to cheat to get them. So yes, I am thinking the same thing - somehow the game code/script does not include these 10 recolors in neither what you get as a result of winning a duel nor what randomly comes up for purchase at the store in the magic realm. Hopefully this can get some attention soon.
Hi, I sent a file to you for this. I do have a mod installed, but I was having this problem long before the mod was installed.
Okay, let me add a strange twist to this. I have very carefully played a no mods/no cheats game. I will fully use every feature of the game, but I do everything within the game as designed except I do not even use the cheats built into the game. Not even to gain a few simoleons. But recently, I accidentally cheated. I downloaded a cool library into Glimmerbrook from the Gallery. There in the library was this really cool thing called a crystal zoomer. I recognized it from the outline in the collections screen. I wanted it! So I used Burgliate to steal it. I had never won any of the alternate stuff no mater how many duels I won. Within about a dozen duels, I had completed the collection of brooms. Every single one. So, I went back to the library (although I was feeling really guilty about it) and Burgiated a wand I had never seen before. In several dozen more duels, I have won three more wands. Still seven to go. When I began using the "Wand of the Forgotten" in duels, I never won a wand at all. So I switched to a bone wand, and promptly won two wands (not good ones). So it seems you have to have one of the items in order to be able to win them. I have NEVER seen a "fancy" item in the shop, not matter how many times I have been in. I am convinced you can't buy them. The question is, how do you get that first one WITHOUT CHEATING?
I won most of my Crystal Zoomers from Dueling for Magical Artifacts at the Dueling Grounds with the Sage of Mischief Magic. Although I think I did buy one once from the shop - very rare - after I won my first one this way. Notice that the Sage of Mischief's "domain" in the Realm of Magic is the crystal cave belowground. This gave me high hopes for what else I might be able to win from each of the other two Sages but so far nothing but regular Wands of the Forgotten from them.
That being said, I have been unable to find any of the colour variants of the wands and would also like to see this bug looked into. Have never used mods, CC or cheats. Have been doing exactly as everyone else here has - prowling the shop daily and dueling for artifacts with everyone I come across including the sages, both on and off the dueling grounds. From experience it seems the dueling grounds give better rewards, but yet none of these are even "common" variants of common wands!
Edit: I have now noticed that sometimes townie spellcasters will use wands while in the Realm of Magic and that sometimes they are using re-colours - or so I assume because without ever having seen a recolour myself, they are the same wands but sometimes in different shades to the ones I have been able to win/purchase. I have specifically targeted these townies to Duels for Artifacts in the hope that this is the way to win these variants, but still nothing.
I also got myself a pet as a Familiar because I learned you can send them to bring back magical gifts, but so far they're bringing back ingredients, not wands.
I have also started buying every wand that shows up in the magic shop in case the thumbnail is somehow glitched and not displaying the fact that the wand available to buy is a recolour, because sometimes the different coloured brooms were hard to spot, but still nothing. I have a perfectly complete collection of all the brooms but only one of each type of wand with many still greyed out in the collection.
