@rlc77Yes, that is exactly what I experienced. I was able to go into buydebug to verify that the 10 recolors actually exist in the game. I purchased them as well and they fully completed my collection. I exited without saving because, like you, I do not want to cheat to get them. So yes, I am thinking the same thing - somehow the game code/script does not include these 10 recolors in neither what you get as a result of winning a duel nor what randomly comes up for purchase at the store in the magic realm. Hopefully this can get some attention soon.
I discovered this recently. In duel after duel, purchase after purchase, and search after search, my sims get the same items and always fail to get certain items. The Realm of Magic artifacts collection cannot be completed without blatant cheating (which is what I've been doing, lol). The items are never generated in a shop's purchase list, after a duel, or in completion of a search.
I finally realized this was a problem when one of my sims won a duel and got two of the same wand -- but not, of course, the wand (in that collection of two) that he didn't have.
I can imagine that for people who dislike cheating, this bug is a nightmare. The items (seemingly) can't be found anywhere. I don't even know what a Crystal Zoomer is; I have not once seen one.
Edit: I should note that I cannot complete the collection *as designed*; that is, even allowing for the fact that completing it does not require duplicates. Apparently one or more needed items never, ever generate, because I *haven't* completed it thus far, and have now ventured into blatant cheating to do so, unfortunately.
EDIT as of 9/28/2021, for the sake of "full disclosure":
I have instituted my own set of rules so that, when my guys win duels, they "fairly" (that is, by my rules) win various items which do not seem to be awarded by themselves, due to this bug. Today, when one of my sims won a duel against Simeon in the Magic Realm, he was awarded two items, one of them being -- for the first time in my gameplay -- a Crystal Zoomer.
So it did finally appear! And I was pleased, because now I feel my sim is more "fairly" completing the collection. But let it be noted that the bug apparently remains.
