[OPEN] Round Rooms Not Functional

Product: The Sims 4
PlatformPC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.90.358.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape, Cottage Living, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Dine Out, Vampires, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, StrangerVille, Realm of Magic, Dream Home Decorator, Werewolves, Luxury Party Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Movie Hangout Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Backyard Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Bowling Night Stuff, Fitness Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, My First Pet Stuff, Moschino Stuff, Tiny Living Stuff, Nifty Knitting Stuff, Paranormal Stuff, Country Kitchen Kit, Bust the Dust Kit, Courtyard Oasis Kit, Blooming Rooms Kit, Decor to the Max Kit, Fashion Street Kit, Incheon Arrivals Kit, Modern Menswear Kit, Throwback Fit Kit, Industrial Loft Kit

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Build a large, round room with 2 flat wall pieces between each of the curves. Try to place a door (if you have made a room connecting to these flat wall pieces), or anything AT ALL in the space available in those 2 squares between the curves (from one side to the other).
What happens when the bug occurs? The Sims cannot move around the objects, even if there is ample space (from 1/2 tile to 6 tiles of room), forcing you to take the wall, floor items, and ceiling items away so the sim can use the space.
What do you expect to see? The sims moving in open spaces properly.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? I had them, but they were removed and I repaired my game in preparation for the newest update.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. 1.90.358.1030/Update made on July 26, 2022

@NutsyTabz Oh that looks really cool. My towers are fully circular, with just the outdoor courtyard joined for the most part. In fact, I had such a problem with the second level flooring, the one tower I'd planned to join to a square indoor room actually isn't - I've got a hole making it outdoor right around the base of the tower.

    Working kitchen:

Had to leave hole in floor:

@joanjettsaltereg On top of this problem I have now after newest update some new problems, anything placed in the curved space will not be clickable and you can't use them. Caused a lot of problems with babies as my sims couldn't access them. Also I can't move any furniture once placed there and flooring doesn't fit with other areas, so annoying
  • I can't add fencing around them either.

Unfortunately I'm just finding them completely frustrating and impossible to use. I don't know if it's easier on PC but they can't be used for anything. I have to delete them but even then they leave a ghost outline and that space will be bugged unless I delete the entire floor and start again.

I tried to build a lighthouse and I wanted railings around the tower but I couldn't, even by using a round deck, then adding a round room. It won't let me do that. I couldn't get an image of the error messages as they just flickered for a split second.

At the top of the tower I wanted a roof, but the round roof was the wrong shape for the round room and it looked like it was floating. Even thick roof trims didn't help.

I just had to scrap the rooms but because the controls on consoles (I'm on Xbox Series S) broke with patch 1.69 I can't always delete a room. I have to try and take a sledgehammer to it but that caused more problems and increases the likelihood of the ghost round walls being left behind.

I'm just not using them again, unfortunately they are not functional and add hours to building time.

Can you imagine if, when they introduced pools to the game, sims couldn't actually swim in them?

That's basically what's happening with round rooms and they STILL haven't fixed it.

@NutsyTabz The issues in your video are not because of the round walls. You can’t use the microwave because you have placed an object above it. Same goes for being unable to cook, there is no counter with not a single object on it - the flowers span over the 2 counters. Same with the sink, there are objects placed around it.

Another year of this bug not getting fixed. They added a whole new build feature to the game, learned it was broken and... just didn't fix it. It's amazing, really.
