I have this problem too. Really annoying. I don't think I can ever use Porthole Peeper or Almost Secure Safety Window again. Also, I don't think it's because of the thicker/thinner window frames because the Light Box window has this issue as well and the interior is the same as the exterior.
I only noticed it today when I placed the porthole peeper window on my 'broken gable roof' and yes I too can say there are windows with cut-out issues stemming from the internal walls.
Just adding that the Porthole Peeper still having problems so I would guess that others are as well. I noticed it's only on the "inside" of the window where the cutout appears.
