Everywhere that I have read, the bug where your sims refuses to use the kitchen counter has been fixed. I disagree. My sims seems to use the farthest away counter space to prepare their food. I tried everything including removing literally everything from the kitchen, walls, wall décor, tables and chairs; everything save the fridge, countertop, stove and sink. My sim still use the furthest countertop, which is located all the way in the living room. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Any suggestions will help.

This is still an issue. Can't use counters in bathrooms because Sims will walk all the way to other side of the house to prep food on a bathroom counter rather than the kitchen counters that are NEXT to the fridge or stove.
I'm experiencing the same. My sim will bypass 5 open kitchen counters to go to the upstairs bathroom counter to cook. I put stuff on the bathroom counters thinking that would stop them because it's blocked, and they still do it. It's annoying.
Absolutely STILL happening... whether or not I have MODS installed. I remove my MCCC and TOOL mods and it STILL happens. I know there is space on the counters by the stove to do the job in, unblocked (there is nothing on them or above them). So, I don't understand the path logic.
