Important point: I never could get my fence to come back, no matter how many times I reloaded the lot or even restarted my computer. However, other builds aren't always having this problem. If it happens, it's an always, never resolved, but whether or not it happens seems to be random.

@MekaelaNoel I agree that it appears to be random, it's not a particular lot or save. I also have the issue that, while I'm still on the lot, if I remove the fence and gate and try to build a new fence (any) in the same place, there will just be blanks/holes where there were holes in the removed fence. Is the bug behaving like this for you too?
Also, I know this might be a tedious question but do you see any difference if you repair your game?

Also, I know this might be a tedious question but do you see any difference if you repair your game?Yes, I am having the same issues as you. I do not know about repairing my game. I haven't tried that as a solution. I honestly hadn't thought about it.

Repairing the game actually fixed the problem for me. Well, at least the fence is back again.
