My game is fully updated and I'm having the same issue on PC. Since it's also affecting PlayStation players, it's definitely not Mods, so I'm guessing it's another bug caused by EA's constant updates because of how buggy High School Years is. Possibly an oversight in all the other updates they've been issuing.
Do these Sims happened to have a fear of dark when changing? A modder wrote about it preventing turning, because vampires are blacklisted from having a fear of dark. Just came to my mind, I can't find the resource anymore so nothing is sure about this, but maybe worth tracking.
Yes, mine does. Would it be worth removing the fear or turning them off then trying to turn Gunther again to see if that works?
Me again. I removed Gunther's Fear of the Dark and turned Wants & Fears off and used cheats to turn him. He's finally a Vampire, meaning I can play the game again now that Gunther's a vampire, so I'm guessing that was the issue.
So it might be that the fear of dark really blocks the turning process to be completed, since vampires can't have that fear. But it's nice to hear Gunther is now finally living his eternal vampire life! 👍🏼
The modder also wrote that there might be the same problem with mermaids and fear of water 😅
I'll try to remove mine's fear too later. I could've sworn I did that before I tried though. (I just thought a vampire with that fear was silly, didn't know it affected things lol.)
