Pixelated objects/cas, all dlc and base game

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Français
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.108.335.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Check items through catalogue and see colors not well blended. Look at swatches, and usually those with darker colors will show the pixels in questions. Is it my game or my graphic card setting or am I tripping?
What happens when the bug occurs? Huge ugly pixels that should not be there, usually purple/pink/green on some objects, builds or cas stuff. The new EP come with a lots of that but the winner goes to that marble floor they use in the gym.
What do you expect to see? Nicely blended colors without harsh pixels showing on objects.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

This has been an issue in game since very long, base game objects and CAS and also many different packs objects/cas swatches have this issue, where you see weird very noticable pixels in certain spot where there should not be any but be one color... like black, dark blue, dark brown... they usually shows green/purple/pink pixels on certain spot sometime, very noticeable, sometime less but here is a picture of the recent EP Lovestruck floor pattern. This is an extremely noticable one, just like many of university objects (inside of toilet stalls being rainbowy instead of just the color its supposed to be). Here is an example of what I mean, I hope someone sees it too, let me know please. I am starting to think I am the only one seeing those things.

I'll take a look and see if the objects have this in my game too, yes. I will note in advance that I don't have every DLC, so I can't check everything (eg. the Lovestruck items).

Hi! I'm SimmerStar4 (they/them). I'm not an expert on game issues, so don't take me as one! I'm just a Sims player who wants to try and help fellow players, and who finds game bugs and issues interesting. A lot of issues following the Lovestruck patch (23 July) have already been reported. If your issue is described in one of these threads, please report it there:

Some of these issues have had a patch for PC/Mac, and are waiting on a patch for Console.

Alright, I've taken a look at some of the fridges in particular, and I can definitely see this pixelation in game. I also have my graphics set to Ultra. I had noticed some of this before but assumed it was intentional - on the fridges, it seems to be almost exclusively on darker objects, so I assume this is some sort of lighting map side-effect from the game (I'm not super well-versed in the ins and outs of the lighting engine and how it interacts with the textures in this game though). I'll check later if changing my lighting settings effects any of these textures in my game.

  • Hello!

I know this is an old blog, but I’m also experiencing the same issue. I am currently using a reshade and I do have mods installed. I can confirm that removing the reshade and the mods didn’t change anything. The purple pixels still show. I did see that when the game is darker the pixels are less noticeable, which is to be expected. The game is old so perhaps it’s just like that?

  • Sadly, this is by design. The textures themselves are of below poor quality, blurry, pixelated and often misaligned.
