[PS4] [GF] Burned tracks don’t play the same song produced at the Music Station

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.21
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get to Work, Parenthood, Vampires, Moschino Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Step 1: Produce New Track Step 2: Choose track Step 3: Remix (remix for a little while) Step 4: Burn Track Step 5: Play Track Step 6: Select burned track and listen
What happens when the bug occurs? As soon as I’m finished producing a new track and remix it until I’m happy with the product, I burn the disc and then listen to it to make sure it sounds exactly as it did when I was producing the song. When I actually play the track, none of the remix options, such as the vocals, drums, guitar, bass etc, are played on the track. It is only the default track that plays and nothing else.
What do you expect to see? I expect the entire track to play exactly how I produced it once I’ve burned it onto a disc so I can listen to it whenever I like and even publish it to my label so it can be played on the radio.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

N/A

  • @ghostlymenace22  @crinrict  I tried to replicate this. I used the Bailey-Moon household on a new game since they have a mixmaster station. I tried three different tracks, "Gom Gabrow," "Rooba Vay," and "Ree Bines." I added all the mix options to them, only "Ree Bines" had the option to add vocals and then played them back. The tracks were all produced as either normal or outstanding quality.

The tracks when I played them back all sounded like they did in the remix. The difference I heard was noticeable in "Ree Bines" which had vocals. When I was mixing, it was the chorus I heard. When playing back the song sounded different because it was playing the whole song and then sounded identical when I got to the chorus. The others I didn't notice such a difference but they were just instrumental.

So, I wasn't able to replicate the issue unless the issue was that you don't mix the whole song for that one just the chorus, so it sounds different on playback until you get to the chorus.

Edit: Once a track I mixed did sound wrong but I gave it the same name as a previous track so it was essentially a duplicate of the previous track. When I went mixed it again and named it with a new name it was fine.

Ok, a question to @ghostlymenace22 and @PoptartJuniper  What media production skill level was the sim who made the track?

It took me a while with a number of sims before I noticed that extra remix options get added to most of the songs as you level up.  So the songs sound different at various skill levels as you remix them at those levels.  I haven't tried replaying them later more than a couple times and didn't pick up any differences.  So what I'm thinking is that maybe all you hear on replay is the final cut with all the options on at level 5 or just those options available for the skill level the sim is currently at.  So if you burned a remix at skill level 1 and replayed it when you're at skill level 5, what you hear is the skill level 5 song, not the skill level 1 song.  Just a guess, though.
