What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? City Living, Get to Work, Vampires, Dine Out, Vintage Glamour Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a character join the Detctive career, go to work, and use a computer to get your first case. It will then tell you to go to the crime scene so go over to the crime map and it will take you to the crime scene. Although you will arrive there, the game does not register it and still tells you to go to the crime scene. Because of this, you can’t interact with anything related to your objective.
What happens when the bug occurs? You get your case assignment as a detective, you go to the crime scene, but the game does not register that you have arrived at the crime scene so you cannot progress with your job. You can’t interact with any of the evidence, you can’t interview witnesses, nothing. It’s as if you just visited the lot normally. You can still talk to the people there and use other objects but you can’t do what you’re actually there to do.
What do you expect to see? Evidence should be able to be interacted with, witnesses should be able to be questioned, the objective at the top left should recognize that I’m at the crime scene and give me a new objective.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I was very excited to play the Get to Work expansion only to find out that I cannot, as a detective at least. I haven’t tried the other careers associated with Get to Work but as a detective, you cannot progress with your career because of this bug. This isn’t a small thing, the entire point of this expansion is to be able to actually control your sim through their workday and the 2nd objective it gives you is thoroughly broken. Really disappointed, please fix this soon. Otherwise myself and many others have paid money for literally nothing.
In The Sims 4 console Facebook group that I admin, I am seeing a lot of users complain about the same thing. There is suspicion that it has to do with when you have get to work and City living installed. People have noticed that when crime scenes are in the city this occurs. People are also saying they can't go on patrol. I have also seen people say when they arrest a suspect they get locked in a cell that they can't get the suspect out of to interrogate them. It appears to be happening to both Xbox One and PS4 users.
