[PS4/XB1] Police Career Not Working Properly

I have started the Detective career and have a task of visit crime scene. When I have selected travel to crime I am not able to complete any tasks or return to the police station. 

It is almost as it I have visited the area whilst not working, I cant search for clues, get witness statements or get to return to the police station no matter which way I try. I have to remain at the scene until the workday finishes

Has anyone else had this issue? Or any advice on how to resolve 

I am playing in the PS4

This is happening for me too ! I have no tasks to complete if I leave the station and come back from a crime sense and the game never lets my sim come home, even when the work day is over. I made this sim specifically so I could be a detective, help !!
