merged your post in the issue thread for adoption for now as some have issues with both and some only with the carrier.

So I've tested this on several of my saves and didn't run into any issues so a few questions for those of you with issues

1. Did you start a new save or is it a pre-patch save ?
2. Are you living in a house or apartment ?
3. What interaction did you do before fully adopting the kitten ?
4. Did you switch game mode while the adoption was running (for example go to build mode) ?
5. Have you ever used mods/cc with that save game ?
6. Are there any tight spaces involved on your lot ?
7. Do you have the issue that the carrier didn't go away or also that the pet wasn't added to your household ?
8. How many times did you try ? Did you get the issue each time ?
9. If you have any lastException files from around the time when it happened, please attach them
10. Anything else that comes to mind ?

Have the same problem. Hope they fix this soon in one more extra urgent patch. I'm getting tired of this beta expantion that cost 40€.

• Did you start a new save or is it a pre-patch save ? recovery save originally, new save still happens, and pre patch save too
• Are you living in a house or apartment ? both and it both places the adoption doesn't finalize
• What interaction did you do before fully adopting the kitten ? laptop adoption option, and i clicked on the adoption sim before they came inside of the home, the interactions were like a regular sim no adoption menu option, crate inside home wont disappear 
• Did you switch game mode while the adoption was running (for example go to build mode) ? live mode
• Have you ever used mods/cc with that save game ? current save game, i did take them off and the problem still happened.
• Are there any tight spaces involved on your lot ? yes
• Do you have the issue that the carrier didn't go away or also that the pet wasn't added to your household ? both issues, i had to use testingcheats on to add the pet
• How many times did you try ? Did you get the issue each time ? yes, many times i tried different households as well.
• If you have any lastException files from around the time when it happened, please attach them i have attached them
• Anything else that comes to mind ? the incident happened after the pet sit down with the owner, i dont remember the interaction but it has to do with unwind? they both froze i had to use resetsim and after that the game broke, the vet clinic wasnt accessible and then sims could not go inside the house, they can only stay in the lot area go for walks and travel

This looks like an older file from Nov 8th. Don't think it's related. Do you have any others ?

thats odd, i used a recovery save file and saved on top it, is this causing the issue? if i start a new save, then i cannot use any of my sims since the household picture theres a blue square and no sims will load.

You mean with the adoption ? I mean it's possible that you have no other lastexception files. The game doesn't write them for every error.

I'm having the same issue regarding adoptions in Cats and Dogs.  The first time, I attempted to adopt an adult cat for my copy of a longtime save (for testing reasons) and even though the adoption supposedly went through (with billing, animation, and notification), the cat icon did not appear on the sims panel and I still had the options to adopt that cat multiple times. Out of curiosity to test the problem, I had the sim dismiss the adoption evaluator after adopting the cat and the cat went away.   I had to temporarily separate the family with the cat in order for the cat to show up and be a part of the family.  

Last night, I created a new save, super fresh and all to test the issue and I tried to adopt a stray and it did not appear in the sim panel either.  Also a last exception error happened both times with adoption/add stray to the family.

I do have updated mccc, UI cheats, and my cc are batch updated.  Also removed ALL other mods that are not updated.  

I attached the most recent last exception error.  Hopefully it helps to figure out the issues.  

Could you please remove your mods. For testing, it doesn't matter if they are updated or not. Especially MCCC is so big it will have errors itself.

Reporting bugs at the bug forum is always on vanilla games only.

That said, I've tried more adoptions myself and did see the issue with the carrier staying on lot. I've tried new and old saves.

For me, the agent actually did not get in and then after I greeted her she did and left one carrier, then moved to the kitchen to leave a second one. Only the second one had an animal. The first one was left over.

Correct, i meant the adoption. 

thanks for seeing the error though, it seems to be an in game issue.

I was finally able to adopt a dog, the agent brought the dog, i put my sim male talking with the agent, and the female sim go outside of the building (they live in an apartment), then i select the dog click on the option adopt for 200, grab the dog and put him in my apartment, when i click on that option and confirm the adoption, the dog was added to the household, but to be sure the agent didn't get my new pet, i lock him in a room and waited the agent to leave.  lol  Don't know if this is the right process to do it but it worked for me (the lock part i know is not suppose to happen). I did this only one time, so i don't know if in the next adoption it will work .
