Re: [ARCHIVED] Dead Sims being culled fro family tree although still ghosts

I tried looking all over the internet and forums to try and find something about this, but I couldn't. Anyways, on to my problem. I used to have a sim that I played, but eventually played with the next generation. They were always under a "played household." They died while I was not on their lot, so there is no existing urn/gravestone. My issue now is that I have been trying to restore this sim in any way possible. In the family tree, they basically have a blank profile. So there is a trace of existence, but no actual sim. My guess is that this sim got culled, but I don't get why because they were under a played household. They disappeared from the family tree and my game pretty much instantly. My main question is, is there ANY possible way for me to restore this sim?

    Hi @Divlly

there's currently a bug with this so I merged your post with the bug report

You should actually get a tombstone now even for NPCs. Do you know where they died ?

As for reverting: Other than going back to a backup, there's currently now other way of resolving this but hopefully this bug can be crushed and the tree reverted.

I know where they died, but they died before getting tombstones/urns for NPC's was implemented. So that's pretty much where my issue is..

They still shouldn't be culled from the family tree.

So either reverting to an earlier save or wait until they might fix it.

@crinrict@SimGuruNick I'm hoping that you're still looking for saves for this issue since I just spent a lot of time searching backups to find them for you.  Below is my description to go with the saves that you can find here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!ArPIGWJbTX1ve7TSR_XH-J-0K24

Tree Intact... In Newcrest top 'hood in the Taft household, Tristen Martinez as a teen has an intact tree with his parents, brother, and sister.  They were downloaded from the gallery so have no previous heritage.

Pre-Marriage Broken Tree... The same sim in the same household but now partway through his YA age stage, his parents are now gone.

Now... The top left household in Oasis Springs household Rover. After Tristen moved in and I saw his tree I knew it was broken because I was familiar with his older brother. I'd gone back into an old save and saved his parents into my library. I then added them in CAS, made them his parents again with cheats and killed them again with cheats to fix the tree. I also grabbed his brother and sister's graves for safekeeping. I noticed recently that the sister is no longer in the family tree. The odd thing is that her children still show in Tristen's relationship panel as a niece and nephew. You can find the parents, brother, and sister's graves in the Newcrest graveyard kinda stuck in a corner by the gate.

This bug is very upsetting to me considering, as you can see by the extensive Rover/Raines family tree, that I take heritage very seriously. I have other family households you can see since they are marked as played and my fear is that due to someone being culled from a tree, I will inadvertently marry a sim to a relative. I hope that these saves can help you.

@StormyDayzGamez Thank you so much for all of the saves and the detailed info about each one of them, it's incredibly appreciated and useful to us. This bug is still being worked on, apparently it's a bit complicated to fix, so I don't really have an update on this issue, but your saves will definitely be extremely useful for checking the fix once it's ready. Thanks again! 🙂
