Re: [ARCHIVED] Eyes/Eyelids Issues (Patch 1.110.265/2.01)

I have this issue! My sim’s eyelids cannot close properly! And I also have the eye shape changing issue! My God! The eye shape changing is game breaking for me! My beautiful sims are now ruined! There are many of us who are very particular of how our sims look! We spent hours creating/designing our sims’s faces! This issue might sound trivial to you, EA! But it is a HUGE deal to a lot of us!

EA, FIX THESE BUGS QUICK!!

*Eye shape changing bug

*Cannot close eyes bug

*Lighter eyeliner presets bug

REMEMBER! THERE ARE 3 EYE ISSUES!

    I think that of all the hundreds of bugs we've had, this one is the worst of all. At least the others could be fixed with batch fixes on Sims 4 Studio... In this case, there's nothing we can do. It's so frustrating!

    I have noticed that when I lower my eyelids, I can use the animations (even though it is a little clear that the eyes do not close 100%. I would say that about 60% is closed)
    An example is one of the sims who has his eye 100% closed, with his eyelids very low, and the others have their eyelids raised higher and do not close their eyes completely, even with the game animations.

    Hello @TheBlueBoy how do you lower your eyelids? Sorry I am fairly new to The Sims 4. And where do you get the animation? Do you mean those custom poses?

    @StrifeDacostaHello!
    I lower the eyelids in the cas itself when creating the Sims. You can lower and raise them! The Create Sim mode is very large for creating Sims and allows us to do this.
    Regarding animations, I am referring to the animations of The Sims itself (expressions, conversation, kiss, hug...) but I include custom animations in this problem as well since they are also affected.

    You can get the animations on YouTube! Many creators make custom animations available on YouTube/Patreon... Pinterest... among others.

    @TheBlueBoy Thank you for the info 😊 Aaaah you mean face sliders! Do you lower your upper eyelids or lower eyelids?

    @StrifeDacosta exactly! the facial sliders!
    I lower my upper eyelids. I have noticed that when they are too high it is noticeable that the eyes do not close completely.

    For many of us, this is not a good fix to the issue because then your sim look half-asleep all the time with the lowered eyelids, as well as distorting features that were carefully constructed by us when we created our sims. Also, I am not sure this is an option for console users. This bug was created by EA in such a way as to require them to make the change themselves. Furthermore, this does not fix all of the 3 eye issues. I appreciate you trying to be helpful, and for some players, this may "fix" the problem enough for them to play. But for many of us unfortunately, it will not work. It is also getting frustrating to not hear anything about the status of this issue - is it even being looked at? Unfortunately, we do not know.

    Unfortunately, there are no workarounds for these three following critical eye bug issues:

    1. Eye shape bug

    2. Lighter eyelashes with preset eyes bug

    3. Eyes not closing all the way bug

    Also, the thing is that all of them need to be fixed before us storytellers can continue on with our sim stories. All of them affect the appearance of the sims. For example, the eye shape bug makes the faces of the sims look deformed and off. The lighter eyelashes with preset eyes just makes the face of the sims look weird and also off. The eyelids not closing all the way when blinking, sleeping, etc just makes the sims look creepy.

    The DEVs need fix these critical eye bugs because they are just two big to ignore. I can't express enough on this, but if it is the new eyelashes that are causing this, it's best to get rid of them. Sacrificing the beauty and appearance of the sims themselves for these eyelashes is just not worth it. That is like erasing 10 years of the sims themselves just for eyelashes which I don't think look that great. The CC eyelashes look better IMO.

    Can we please get an update on the progress on these three critical eye issues. I really do want to get back to my sims story.

    @irishdragon7I completely understand. I'm just as dissatisfied as you are. I posted this so that some users can at least play with the Sims. Obviously I really want the eyes to close completely again without having to do this kind of thing. I share the same thought, the Sims really do seem to fall asleep if you lower your eyelids. I find myself as frustrated as you are.
