I have 0 mods, and this exact glitch happened to me with the For Rent pack after I paid my landlord in person for the bills. The game took my money & claims I didn’t pay utilities. Sends a bill in the mail but when you click on it, you can only favorite it. Repo man is stealing all my stuff too.
Glad to know I’m not crazy lol. I tried to do a work around and have a household buy the rental lot to see if the option would pop up on the mailbox or phone and still nothing. Even then, I notice that the household that bought the lot doesn’t have it as owned in the business panel and I can’t re-purchase the lot bc it says that it’s already owned. It’s sad bc I was really looking forward to this pack. Hopefully the issue is resolved soon.
I have a similar issue, my households do not receive any bills and there are no options to pay them. I thought it was because I played rotational and missed the day the rent was due, but even staying for the whole 7 days with the same household did not change that, I even had the landlord come on the lot but he did not ask me anything and there are not options regarding rent. I see the late rents cumulating in the bills and taxes info but that's it.
I also tried playing as the landlord and for him no options to collect the rents.
I just bought For Rent today (8/6/24). My Sims live in their own house and I tried the work around but it still doesn't work.
I have the same problem that just started for me and I have had for rent since it came out so I’m not sure it’s the problem. I tried all the suggested work around but they didn’t work for me either.
I'm getting this issue again on Xbox Series X with all content installed. I'd eventually got rid of it after reporting it with For Rent but patch 1.96 has brought it back. I get it every time I load a lot but there are no options to pay. The mail box sometimes gets bills in it which can be discarded but not paid. I'm adding an image of my Sim getting bills twice in 17 minutes because she was travelling. She got one notification while a bar was loading and then another notification when arriving at home. She's still had no payable bills since patch 1.96, despite a lot of notifications.
I even get it when loading after using CAS and each time I open my game. She's had no punitive action against her though. No electric or water being disconnected.
I'm still having the same issue too on PC, similar to the above commenter. I missed some updates because I was wary of game-breaking bugs and didn't want the flashing cart icon, so rent payments have never worked for me since buying this pack. This is true for both tenants and home owners.
