I have the same issue. I play for weeks and have several tenants but I never receive rent from them.

If I'm calculating correctly, it seems that if you leave your lot, you don't get paid. My first week, I was called over to a tenants apartment every day but 1. I got 1 days rent. The second week I was called over every day but 3 and went to a park on one of the days. I got 2 days worth of rent. It was fairly easy to calculate since I only had one apartment to care for.
