Re: [ARCHIVED] Gallery Not Connecting

When selecting the gallery both in the main menu and in-game, my game says that this feature requires an online connection and needs connection. That makes sense, however, my game is incapable of connecting to the servers. I have youtube playing in the background so I know it's not a problem with my internet.

I've reset the game to factory settings, uninstalled all of my mods and CC, and I'm currently repairing the game files through Origin. Is there anything else that I can do?

EDIT: Repairing the game files did not work :/

Same, its been down for a little over an hour here. Even reinstalled the game completely to see if that would somehow fix it.

I been having this same exact problem since I woke up today! I don't play with mods or CC, so I know it's not that. I even tried restarting my internet connection and repairing the games files, that didn't worked. I can still play the game normally though, just can't connect to the Gallery. My only guess is that it's down for some reason.

  • @FeverishEU Thank you for the down detector link! I had searched through the forums here but couldn't find anything. Never occurred to me that there might be an outage.

should also add that when you go to the EA page I linked, look for the green bar that says Server Status and click the link and THEN server status will slide down. If you don't see a green up arrow, it's down. (TBH there should be a red down arrow, but oh well lol)

I am on the PC.  I am unable to connect to the gallery.  I have removed all mods.  I have Removed and reinstalled Origin.  I am running Origin and Sims 4 as administrator.  It shows me the usual ads in the main menu, so Origin knows I am connected, but when I go to gallery it tells me a connection is required and attempts to connect.but tells me it "could not connect".  Is there anything else I can try?

They definitely need a better way of conveying server status.  A green dot, if you haven't looked at what it looks like when it's up, looks like it's up.

@Lerf1950 What antivirus program are you using? Try disabling your firewall and check to see if you can access the gallery. If you can now access the gallery you need to open the firewall for the gallery. Don't forget to turn on the firewall after you tesdt.

I'm having the same problem! I've tried everything that is recommended - including firewall - and it's still not working.

Hello! I’m having problems with the Sims 4 not being to go online??

I downloaded Sims 4 off of Steam but Steam is online and so is Origin, plus I restarted it multiple times and it still isn’t working.

I checked my firewall and all still no problem, I have a Windows. This just started happening today, yesterday there was no problem. Maybe it’s because of the anti virus thing I had to update? But I’m not sure.

    would appreciate some help !!

I'm having the same issue. The gallery will not connect, I've tried running the game as administrator, looked into all my firewall/protection settings, restarted my router etc.. seems the fault must be at EA's end. I'm running a brand new PC too, so I know my PC can't be the issue.

@3ace_ace I've seen in a different post (just below yours actually) that the server itself seems to be down. I also can't currently get there either.
  • I came on here looking to see if anyone is having the same issue as I am and now I am starting to wonder if this is a bigger issue. I cannot connect to the Gallery AT ALL. I keep getting the message:

"The Origin store is currently disabled because it was launched from another application."

I tried following all the steps that were recommended on another thread. Those steps were to:

After trying all of these things several times... nothing has resolved my issue. I've checked them all and still no access to the gallery. I uninstalled Sims, Steam, Origin and nothing. I hope somebody sees this message and can give a recommendation that works. For my computer specifics:

    • I am running on Windows
    • I downloaded the base game of Sims 4 on Steam
    • I purchase all DLC on Origin only

I mean Origin has given me problems in the past but never like this. I don't know what to do..

Has nothing to do with any firewall or virus protection. This is more than likely related to the latest update. My gallery worked fine on 7/10/22. As of 7/11/22, i can't connect. And yes, I disabled both firewall and antivirus. If your not having this issue, good for you.
