If you can't or don't use mods, you can use the Friendly interaction "Ask To Just Be Friends" and that gets rid of the romance and doesn't harm the friendship at all.  (Ew. But I can tell you from my own "teen joined romantic convo and was suddenly a love interest" experience that it works!)

Or yes, you can use a mod to destroy the relationship.  UI cheats will zero out the romance bar, but I think it'll always exist at 0, like Ask To Just Be Friends.  MCCC you can destroy and recreate the relationship but you'll lose all your sentiments, etc.

It's awful.  ☹️

I know, I just hate the fact that I have to ask my daughter to just be friends. its such an uncomfortable scenario i don't even want to fix it cuz that Love bar will always be there >.>

My sim has a romantic relationship with her toddler and the option to “just be friends” isn’t even showing up, I tried cheating it but all it did was fill the bar more, the color changed from pink to red and it’s now labelled as “it’s very complicated”

my other sim’s husband apparently flirted with this sim too (the same sim that has a romantic bar with a toddler) he wasn’t even talking to her. I have no clue how it happened but this all seems to be happening with the same sim and ever since they added the loyal trait to the game. It must be a bug in that trait. I chose “just be friends” and while it got rid of all pink, the bar is still there showing that have been romantic interests. So dumb ☹️
