Re: [ARCHIVED] Reaper's Rewards: Plumbob icons for Quests no longer available

@LoveDarkness103 I managed to fix this, but I think it will only work if you are playing on PC, if you'd like to try?

  • Go to C:\Users\(yourcomputerusernamehere)\Documents\Electronic Arts

  • Click the Sims 4 folder and drag it to your desktop, so that all your saves and tray files are saved. Then restart the Sims 4. The game will generate an entirely new copy of that folder for you, and it will act like you have only just opened the game for the first time.

  • Exit without saving. All you needed was for the game to re-generate the Sims 4 folder.

  • Have this new folder open in one window, and the old version you saved to your desktop open in the other.

  • From the OLD sims 4 folder, take the folders titled TRAY and SAVES, and paste them directly into the new Sims 4 folder. If you end up with two folders with the same title in the NEW sims 4 folder, delete the versions that are empty. This will transfer all your old saves/households/saved builds to the newly-generated copy of the game.

I don't know WHY it works, but it did! And it will save your progress on the reaper xp too, because that's tied to your EA account

  • OMG! I have tried this and it works !!!!!!!!

Annoying that we have to be the one fixing a problem we haven't created but still, at least now I can get my rewards, yay !!!

    Thank you so much !!!!!!

  • @moriiSola I tried this, but with no effect.  I'm also having a problem when starting the game.  The screen comes up as black.  I have to turn my monitor off, then back on again to see the game window.

Also, if you participated in previous login events, delete the file titled "UserSetting" from the NEW Sims 4 folder, and paste in the "UserSetting" file from the old folder. That should transfer over all the unlockable rewards you'd previously earned (like the single tile bar and base game vending machine and things)

    Thank you! Worked perfectly 🙃

@moriiSola THANK YOU SO MUCH this is the first thing that I have tried that got the second quest involving the newsletter to come back. I moved everything from my old folder into the new one after repairing and opening the game to generate a new folder. I left out the save that I used for the first quest because I had been playing on a residential rental lot and that may have caused an issue with the ambrosia newsletter task not completing before (yeah I have experienced 2 different bugs during this event, I'm truly blessed lol). I started a new save this time and am working on the second quest now.
