same here.. first week no problems. 2nd week it started.. for a moment i saw two tabs with tasks.. then i lost one tab.. i completed the task buying seeds.. traveled to my parent house to grab something to summon the grimm so i could friend him... but arriving there the 2nd tab with tasks also disappeared. the tabs with tasks didn't come back anymore.. i still have the grimm icon in the top left. oh and the ambrosia letter arrived in the post.. but reading it didn't do anything.. no progress, no task tabs. So i tried to open an older save.. one that i played 15 september for the last time.. save didn't open at all.. it's loading and loading and loading.. left it loading for an hour but didn't came up. So i started a new game to see if the tabs with tasks would appear.. but also in the new game.. no tasks. tried things for 2 days now.. i'm done with it.
How do we fix it?
I actually see the rewards and it’s telling me to claim the rewards but when I click claim it says can’t connect same with the gallery not my saves but browsing in the galley it won’t connect.
- @sixelaMoonCrow23 Hey 👋 , I’m using a Mac and I was able to get it to work again by taking the file named “accountDataDB.package” from my sims 4 file and dragging it onto my desktop. The people I heard this tip from said to delete that file but I didn’t. When I restarted the game it regenerated that same file again in the sims 4 file where I took the old file from and the grim event worked perfectly for me to finish the tasks without any issues.

Edit: Nevermind, I found it. Tried both moving it and deleting it, but sadly it didn't work. ☹️
Update: If you are on PC, you'll have to tamper in the files while the game is still running! Don't close the game and then do it. 🐱
- @a3pony hi 👋 I’m on a Mac so I hope this works for you too I am new to using a Mac. I’ll give you a list of steps to find it. You’ll need to go into the files inside your computer files😊
•first go to your computers “Documents”
• then from those documents open your “Electronic Arts” file
•from that Electronic Arts file open “Sims 4” file
•this is where the file that needs to be removed is found named “accountDataDB.package”
• drag if out of your Sims 4 file or delete it.
This isn’t what a ea representative said to do I heard this tip from another player from an online video but it worked for me, that’s why I didn’t actually delete the file so I could put it back just incase. But it can just be deleted, it regenerates without the errors when the game is loaded again after removing that file. @a3ponyOh no that’s strange that it didn’t work. I didn’t have my game on when I did it and I restarted it again after. It might take a minute to show up I think mine took a little bit less than a game day to get the newsletter and stuff for the event again
@jennythefoxybee it just restarts the event from Week 3 (if you delete the file) and you need to do all the tasks once again, mine stops showing again when travelled to Magic Realm.
- @KattyGames007 That’s strange how it has such a different effect for everyone. I’m not tech savvy at all and I’m also new using a Mac so I’m really not the best person to be giving this advice. I did hear it from someone else though, I could never figure that out myself lol. Removing that file from that file completely fixed my game for now at least. I hope they will fix it so it works again for everyone, honestly I don’t think it’s really fair that they haven’t fixed this yet it’s been weeks and been very disappointing for a lot of players. Especially since so many of us love grim so much.
@jennythefoxybee true-true, hope they either fix the game or make cheats/workarounds to be able to move further in the event. For the file - yeah, I've played too much with it by deleting/moving, putting it back after clean restart etc. - nothing, now Week 3 (for me, before it was Week 2) events are bugged for me, if some can be resolved, some just simply couldn't
