Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Perform mischief social interaction.
What happens when the bug occurs? Mischief interactions always end up negatively despite sims having maximum mischief skill, maximum charisma skill, liking mischief, having a high relationship with each other, and both feeling playful.
What do you expect to see? Mischief interaction succeeding per the sims' mischief level, charisma level, traits, likes and dislikes, moodlets, and relationship.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure 

This might be currently an unnoticed bug (not caused by the Crystal Creations patch but others suggest it occurred since the infant update) since most players don't use mischief interactions quite often or others think it always ends up negative by default. I played a mischievous sim a while ago and I knew mischief interactions could end positively, especially following their mischief level, charisma level, traits, likes and dislikes, and relationships. 

To be fully sure of this bug, I created a fresh UNMODDED save (download link attached) with 2 sims in a household, both having the Goofball trait, both liking mischief, both having high mischief and charisma levels (since I've read charisma determines social interaction success rate), both having the maximum friendship level with each other, and both feeling playful. Even with all that, all mischief interactions fail. All mischief interaction under Deception fails, some Pranks rarely work, specifically the "Trick with Hand Buzzer" interaction but still end up reducing friendship.

    I'm glad that others have seen this issue and it is not just me.  For me, the biggest annoyance is are the autonomous interactions where the characters choose mischief and start hurting the relationship level.  There have been several patches since I first saw it and thought that this would be fixed by now, but no word, yet.

  • I also have this problem, I didn't even know mischief interactions could be successful and I was always wondering what is the point of mischief. I only looked it up because I cannot complete the "give false promises" task from the polititian career from city living...

    Nope, it is not in the May 29 patch.  Apparently, a broken major interaction category does not qualify for high priority.

    A whole social category is broken in the base game 😞

    According to the latest "Laundry List" (September 3, 2024), Mischief is still not being resolved.

    Apparently, this topic was not with the issues that "have the most community reports".

    If this is what I'm guessing, due to the age of this report, a complicated issue to resolve, may we at least have mischief interactions be disabled from the autonomous conversation roll?

    I've never quite understood why mischief interactions, for example, "Lie About Career" (which usually tends to trigger the skill and the constant use of after), being part of the default conversation roll.  But due to that, no matter what mood they're in, place there at, or level of relationship, they will tend to queue up an interaction which immediately backfires. There are even times they will follow up with another one.

    Please, we just like something done.

  • So it has been nearly 6 months since I submitted an unmodded save file and decided to revisit this thread and I am glad some action is taking place since it has been a while and I can't find this issue being fixed looking through the recent laundry lists. Also, I decided to reply to this thread to remind the Sims team that this issue still persists upon testing on the latest update (version 1.109.185.1030). Hopefully, this bug is not forgotten and solved in the near future.

    Also to provide more insight, old comments in this thread suggest that the issue goes away if you own the Get Famous Expansion Pack, so I tried it on a friend's account who owns the pack and the mischief interactions succeeded with no issue. Although I am not 100% sure of this factor but it can be a thing to look into if this issue is too difficult to fix. Best of luck in resolving this!
