I downloaded the Sims 4 demo and me and my fiance were having a giggle making our characters until we tried to save, you see, his surname is Cox. It wouldnt let us save because it was a "disallowed word"... SERIOUSLY EA?!?!
Cox is actually a pretty common surname. What is going on?

The filters are really bad, both in the forums and the Demo. Been reported in the bug thread. Feel free to post there too.
My last name really is cox and I was making a character based on myself and I can't save it because for some reason a game company cares whether someone even makes a dirty joke out of a name. They should back off and let us do what we want, but the irony is I was trying to see how well I could create myself in the game.
Nigel could be bad. Try changing that.
Could you guys try if the forums censor the same words. I wonder if they are connected.
I must admit I got a chuckle when I opened this thread to find that on one of the first replies someone with my exact issue covered it. I can't make my simself because my last name is Cox and it's not allowed.
I've just tried to upload a family, two sims, one called Annalise Vatore, the other Emmanuel O'Dell. All the names are ones the game gave me! When I first tried to upload to gallery it said I couldn't.... I just tried again 20 minutes later without changing anything and it went up fine!

Why is Terwilliger banned, EA? It's a legit last name meaning "river-bend where wood is obtained".
@PeacockDawson I tried making those names and I wasn't warned they had bad names. So it must be something in the description as you put it. I didn't know that could be a problem, but it isn't their name. I even tried combining their last names in with their first names to see if there was something wrong with them in combination. You can check by trying to make them and it'll warn you before you can place them, after they show you the "family portrait". It has to be something besides their names.

It wouldn't allow me to use Terwilliger either. It wasn't until I changed the spelling to Terwillager that it allowed the name. I couldn't even add the correct spelling in the description. When it was saying the name had a disallowed word, it highlighted the entire last name in red with a red exclamation point. It was really weird.
talie-clare, that is ridiculous. It floors me that sims can have sex and murder each other but certain words are not allowed. And Cox is a valid last name!
