- Well if that's the case how come I was unable to put it out myself? I hadn't played for a while until yesterday but could've sworn I had somebody show up and put out the fire for me. If I'm not remembering right, and there is no FD, then what the hell?

You can use the cheat resetsim grim reaper.
There is a problem where putting out fire is very sensitive to where you click on the fire. What happened when you clicked on the fire ?
There is definitely no FD, maybe you're confusing with Sims 3 ? That had a FD. It's also possible that guest put out the fire and since the apartment has bugs with NPCs randomly waltzing in, that could have been the case ?
