Re: Can't Compose Comedy Routines via Sims Computer.

I managed to make two.  I am trying to do aspirations that require three....  I tried to put the Computer in my inventory and they take it out; nothing.  I tried to get a new computer; nothing.  I tried to use the one in the library; nothing.  And there are no other ways to compose a comedy medium or large routine.  Thoughts?

There is a limit on how many comedy routines that you can write.  Since the 3 routine milestone is either a 3rd or 4th tier milestone and if you have been writing them to level up the Comedy skill then you may have reached the limit and the game won't let you write any more.  So you have to get rid of some of those you have already written if that is the case.  You can gift them to another sim is the easiest way using the Gift option under the Friendly social menu.

In all honesty, I have never tried this to see if it works.  But I have seen that you do get the option to gift them and have done that so that it should work and allow you to write them again.

Once I figured out that it happens, I use the Write Jokes option to level up the skill so that I don't hit the limit until after I've completed that milestone.

Ok!  Scratch that....  Figured out how to find the Friendly Social Menu.  However, the Gift never pops up.  I tried talking to many people that I was friends with and new friends for a good hour; and Gift was never an option to select.  How do you get the "Gift" Option to pop up?  lol. I'm trying so hard to figure this out/make it work.  🙂

Well........Sorry, that social comes with Seasons so that won't work for you since you don't have it.  I thought it had been added to base game.

But rereading your post, I may have misread what I thought the problem is.  Are you seeing the computer options to write medium and long routines and when you select them, nothing appears in the queue?  Or are you not seeing them? 

If you aren't but see the write short routines then you may have not gotten the skill high enough to unlock them.  They are hidden until you reach a certain Comedy skill level.  Medium unlocks 1st then after leveling up a couple of level, long will unlock.  After they do, they will stay visible but don't do anything if you've maxed the number the game allows.  From your post, I got the impression that you had written all of them and could not do any more so you are one short of completing the milestone.

Since you can't gift them away, then the only option I know to get by the milestone is to use the cheat:  Aspirations.Complete_Current_Milestone

That will auto complete any milestones on that tier than haven't been completed.

You are awesome! I truly appreciate you taking the time to write that all out and to try to help me. I was actually on the fence on whether or not to get Seasons now that it’s on sale. Once again, thank you so much for all of your time! 

And yes, I can see the medium and large routines when I press onto the computer; they just never go on the list of tasks for my sims to do.

So sorry for the confusion! I received a new aspiration of having to do three comedy routines. I accomplished two and only have one left!! That is what’s so frustrating! If I could squeeze out just one more in, that would be amazing! LOL

When I went to do the last one, it would not allow me to. It never shows up on the task bar for my Sim to complete.

Yes I can complete the other writing book ones with no issues.
