I can interact with the pc, but when I choose the write comedy routine option the menu disappears (as usual) but the action doesn't go into their queue. She can do everything but write routines on the pc. I just have the one in the household (have tried two different types now) as well as the ones in the library.
@PoptartJuniper yes the Sim can perform routines and refine them. Just can't write new content it seems.

@PoptartJuniper I have written a lot - I'm at max comedy skill and at career step 9, but I've changed milestones and it's asking me to write routines. Can I 'forget' or remove them to give more space?

Can you try sitting down on the chair first, and then write the routine ?
Do you also have issues with books ?
There is a limited amount you can write as @PoptartJuniper said but iirc, they don't show up anymore if you reached the limit.
It could also be the issue though
