haven't had any problems with fridges myself, however i have had issues with toilets; i've noticed that when a toilet is upgraded with the self clean, and a pregnant sim uses it, it becomes impossible to clean, only fix i've found for it is to sell and rebuy the toilet. hopefully they'll fix it soon
