For those with older saves (since I don’t think it’s an active issue anymore): check your unplayed sims for the “Fear of unfulfilled dreams”. Back when this fear was first introduced and spreading like the plague, it seems to have infected unplayed sims as well, causing them to be incredibly moody. My save is several years old and whenever I look at unplayed sims that were teens or older during the time that this fear was running rampant, they always have the fear and I have to remove it. I’m on console btw.

That said, I also have played sims with no fears, negative sentiments, or negative traits who randomly insult their family members out of the blue (with good relationships, not in a bad mood). It seems to be certain sims who do this a lot, not a global issue, so it must be tied to an attribute for that sim.
