Re: [FIXED] Autonomous Insulting (Patch 1.92.145)

Been playing for about 6 months and this never happen to me so as soon as I saw that a new patch was installed and all of a sudden all my sims were insulting each other I suspected it had to do with the latest patch, I tried installing MCCC and get rid of the mean interactions but it didn't work either, please re-patch it ASAP, it's becoming unbearable.

EDIT: I tried also installing Easy Sentiments Cheats, that didn't work either, sure hope this gets fixed soon.

I am currently experiencing with this problem too. I can confirm it happened after UPDATE 10/11/2022 OR PATCH (1.92.145.1030) . I never had this problem before (or at least hadn't noticed), usually only Sims with Mean Trait who do mean interactions. My Sim gain Hurt Sentiment because his sister insult him ☹️. Now I feel like I can't leave Sims interact with each other unsupervised, because they will autonomously do mean interactions.

Oh, I was about to get the Easy Sentiments Cheats hoping it would fix it ☹️

I have tried changing one of the traits of my two sims to the new Loyal one using the potion and for the time being I seem to have fixed the problem, my two sims married with 100% love and friendship now no longer insult each other when talking independently. However, this cannot be the solution, it is just a little help until they fix the bug.
If anyone else wants to try and see if it works let me know.

This is also happening to me right after the update.  I even created a new game with a brand new sim, with good cheerful and neat traits, he will automatically do mean social actions during the welcome wagon event, for absolutely no reason. Also tested this with a brand new day one married couple with these traits, had them start a conversation and poof they both start arguing. This started after the update.  I have no mods or CC.  I have pretty much every expansion. 

Me too I can't play! ☹️ please EA FIX THIS! is really anoying ☹️

I 'm trying to avoid this with MCCC mod, it seems it works but it's not easy...

I looked this up on Reddit and somebody suggested using MCCC and disabling autonomous mean interactions. This seemed to have worked when I tried it. With MCCC on, click on a computer, go to the MCCC and click MC tuner, click interaction autonomy, find mean interactions and disable it. It's not a great fix because I feel like mean/evil sims should be mean and evil if they want to be. Also requires a third party mod but I see no better alternative.

Hey, I figured I'd mention this for the confused!

The recent reports are a new bug not related to the thread they have been merged into. This bug is caused by the recent update. Several, by my count almost every single one, mean interactions were changed in the recent update to accommodate the new "Loyal" trait. The tuning changes that were made has caused Sims without the trait to behave mean autonomously, which is ruining relationships. The initial thread was posted before this bug occurred, so they are not related in any way except on the surface. Not fussing at the moderators, I understand they have to keep the forums tidy! I'm only pointing out that this bug is not as old as the thread makes it seem.

Likewise, almost every single romance interaction was modified in the new update to accommodate the new Loyal trait, but I have not seen many bug reports about that so far. For now, there are only two options for players:

1. If on PC/Mac and not opposed to mods, you can disable mean interactions autonomy with MC Command Center. Click on a computer, select MCCC, go to MC Tuner, and Change Interaction Autonomy. From there, turn off Autonomous Mean. This will also prevent Sims who dislike each other from being mean.
2. Give your Sims the loyal trait. Yes, all of your Sims whose relationships you value. You can change your Sims' traits by typing the cheat cas.fulleditmode. 

That's honestly all that I can think of until this is fixed. If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to leave them. If you want to recover your Sims' relationships, you can do so with this cheat:

modifyrelationship [Sim1 First and Last Name] [Sim2 First and Last Name] 100 ltr_friendship_main

That will add 100 friendship, but you can change that to your desired amount. If romance needs to be recovered:

modifyrelationship [Sim1 First and Last Name] [Sim2 First and Last Name] 100 romance_main

Likewise, that add 100 romance points. For both of these cheats, you would have to type in "200" if a Sim is currently at -100. In other words, if you want it at "100," but a Sim is currently at -100, you have to type in 200 to accomplish that.

To get rid of sentiments, you need the sentiment's tuning name. For example, if you want to get rid of Hurt, you would type this:

modifyrelationship [Sim1 First and Last Name] [Sim2 First and Last Name] -100 sentimenttrack_hurt_st_generic

Note that it will only remove the sentiment from Sim 1 about Sim 2, so if Sim 2 has the same sentiment, you would have to put their name first.

You may also have to remove the SentimentBit with the Cheat Relationship command in Shift + Click! Always remember that. The sentimenttrack controls the moodlets your Sim gets, but the SentimentBit controls their autonomy toward another Sim.

While I´m not opposed to mods, I'm really not ok with adding traits to my sims via cheats, but I guess it can't be helped, for the time being combining MCCC > Disable autonomy mean/mischievous interactions alongside adding the loyal trait to half the sims in town seem to be working, I guess I'll keep it that way until EA releases a fix.

@KainSetepenSeth You don't have to do both; one or the other should accomplish roughly the same thing. Option 2 will only prevent Sims with the trait from insulting each other randomly. Option 1 will prevent it for all Sims.

I think @lazarusinashes onto something here, 

Having 3 sims in a house 2 with the trait and one without, somewhere someone insults the other and then someone with the Loyalty trait "Confront About Bullying" which seems to be a mean interaction that chain reacts into "Insult" and "Confront About Bullying" constantly, ruining relationships between everyone involved.

Another thing I have noticed, it's not one insult, it's like 3 or 4 and cancelling just makes the sim queue up more.

MCCC Seems to be half-negating it, and I don't usually use it so I don't think I've caught all the interactions

So, I wanted to try out the new trait right away, so as soon as I updated, I gave it to one of the parents in my three sim family. I haven't had the bug. Even her wife, who is evil, has been behaving mostly well. 

Addm: The sim I gave the trait to felt guilty for cheating (she didn't cheat). I played through the "regaining truat" bit successfully.

I am having the same problem. I'm on console, all my sims are randomly mean and so are other sims they interact with. It's so annoying and ruining relationships in my rotational play game. I'm so disappointed that my game is basically unplayable right now 

I've done the same thing.

I removed the loyal trait of all my sims and they still insult everyone...

Also, i play on PS4 so i cant do pc commands to help.

I don't use any mods. I uninstalled and wiped all the saved files from my computer, reinstalled the game, and started a fresh new file, and the autonomous insults start right at the welcome wagon after you create a new household. All immersion is broken and the game is unplayable now. This needs to be fixed.

That was impressive @lazarusinashes . I hope the team sees this and fixes it soon.

@lazarusinashesthis workaround seems to have helped the issue of my Sims being mean to each other! I'm glad I found your solution, and I'm glad that it seems the SimGurus are aware of the issue as well.

Yesterday I was playing and my two fiancés sims lost drastic relationship for no reasons - I thought I did something wrong but it seems the game now autonomously makes your sims mean.  Same for my current household. I guess people being mean for no reason is actually an accurate simulation of real life, but still, I'm waiting for a fix ! It's hardly playable. I'm gonna try this MCCC solution tho. 

This is happening to me as well. I am sick of my Sims being mean to each other, even if all have the Loyal, Cheerful, and Good trait, they are still mean. The father sim of my household died because he yell at his child WHEN HE IS CHEERFUL AND FAMILY LOVING.

I read this bug or issue is or rather may be caused by not having the Loyal trait. So, I deleted all my saves...as they were useless anyways. This game is legitimately unplayable in it's current state. But, as I said, I read if you have the Loyal trait...all your problems will be gone. This is false. Even with the Loyal trait I experienced the same problems. The only affect granted by having the Loyal trait was I had a interaction available to "Confront (sim) for bullying". Which further effected the relationship with another negative hit. I then had the interaction available to Apologize, which didn't recover the negative relation loss. 

Legitimately...step by step...I deleted all my saved games. I use no mods and no cheats.

Started a brand New Game.

Added the Loyal trait to my favorite sim. Added said sim into my favorite neighborhood.

Then watched in horror as my sim insulted and received insults from other sims during the welcome to the neighborhood event.

Due to having the Loyalty trait, I was able to confront the other Sims about their bullying. And could apologize.

However, this accomplished absolutely nothing as the insulting began again only after a few moments of conversation.

This game is unplayable.

I decided to test things a step further. Deleted the save file I had just started as a brand new game. Then I made another brand new game...added Loyal to my favorite Sim. Then added the Loyal trait to my second favorite sim and moved him into the house next door to me. Sure enough, he showed up with the other neighbors in the welcome to the neighborhood event.

My thought process was...maybe because in the previous game the other sims didn't have the loyal trait so that's why I was fighting with them.

Wrong.

My sim fought with the sim I knew had the loyal trait.

Having the Loyal trait or not does nothing to "fix" the issue.
