Re: [FIXED] Can't get married because Sim works for me

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.29.80.2300
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Almost all, but using Base game only for this save.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Trying to make 2 sims that live together, have max romance, and are engaged to get married.
What happens when the bug occurs? Try clicking "Elope immediately with sim name" it is greyed out and says above "Marrying a sim in your employ would be inappropriate. Dismiss them from their role to further pursue a relationship." One is a tech guru and the other is an astronaut.
What do you expect to see? To get them married
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    @T7G-HatersHate Have you tried a wedding event? You may not want to go through all of that just for the marriage, but it may be the only way around it since the option to get married will usually be available during the event. I've had this issue multiple times now on the PS4 version using just the base game, and the only way I've seen the option even available was during the events. I don't think you're going to get that "elope immediately" option to work, I never saw it lit up anyway, so give a wedding event a try because like I said it may be the only way around the problem since I don't expect this to be fixed.

    @T7G-HatersHate - Do either of your sims have other romantic interests? Check your relationship panel to see; usually, if you "ask to be just friends" on all other romantic relationships, they can then get married.

    @BlackjackWidowNot OP but having the same issue. Is there a workaround that preserves all my other romantic interests, or is having one romantic relationship the only option?

    Edit: I've gone into cas.fulleditmode and changed it that way, sorry for the needless tag! Maybe this can help someone else! Making them married in cas.fulleditmode even fulfilled my sim's marriage whim.
