I have had to stop playing both my saves with my livestock because I don’t want them to die. I had the animal aging off and it still kills off my chickens, the wild rabbits and I don’t want to play my other save because I do want to lose my cow and llama
Is it so difficult for EA to fix the game's bugs?
Why isn't it possible, bugs that take years to be resolved, this one is already more than a year old, but there are also others that will be 4 years old. This is totally embarrassing for them, it seems like they don't care about fixing bugs.
The problem with animal aging is in game options in package and gameplay settings, all options are not working properly.
Since the whole game cannot be configured and this affects everything in the game, today The Sims 4 is not playable anymore. It has become an “unplayable” game.
That would be the kind of problem that should have been fixed in an emergency patch, but no, they throw a terrible laundry list in our faces that doesn't address the major bugs.
They say they don't need more saves, but that's it? Did you fix it by chance?
If you need I can provide more than 20 saves with bugs for you, as I have already sent 5 of my saves and nothing has been resolved until today.
And this animal problem doesn't even need saves, many already know that the problem is in the game options, you just need to correct it.
I even created a topic explaining the whole problem of game options, but it was blocked because it has to be posted separately (wants/fears, fame, cotage living, ECO, bust the dust, base game), I agree, but the problem is in game options, all gameplay and all package settings.
Solve this and you will get rid of many bugs that are at the top of AHQ.
I was thinking, since there are mods for almost everything, by any chance does anyone know if there is a mod to fix this temporarily, pending a fix from the EA?
Well, we already purchased the pack so I guess it is not a priority for them. Very sad. It's upsetting they are not prioritizing this fix.
I was looking around and people were saying MCCC but when I select the farm animal, the option for me to use MCCC doesn't pop up. ☹️ I really hope someone comes out with a mod at this point. I haven't played this pack in months now.
Hey everyone, first time poster so I'm not familiar with all this, but I wanted to come in and share that I think I've found a solution to the aging problem for chickens, llamas, and cows through a mod.
I've been so frustrated with this bug and did some diving around, where I found a page of Cottage Living mods by someone named Bienchen. (Just search online Bienchen Cottage Living mods and it should be the first result.) They have a mod that slows the aging of chickens/cows/llamas and separate mods to completely stop the aging of rabbits and foxes. But I didn't want my chickens to die at ALL, so I downloaded the cottageanimalslivelonger mod on that page, opened it in Sims 4 Studio (there's two in the zip but it doesn't matter which you use), and edited Line 15 in the code to <T n="decay_rate">0</T>
I saved and applied the mod, and I've tested it for more than 28 in-game days, and the reaper has not come for my elderly chickens. They're still running around as happy as can be. I still get the notice about the reaper each time I load the household, but he never comes. I haven't tested this with llamas and cows, but in theory it should work for them, too. (I think those three animals are categorized the same because they all need a barn/hutch.)
I don't know if this has completely stopped the aging or just significantly slowed it (it should be stopped though, if the number is at 0), but the results seem promising so far. If you try this out, please let me know if it also works with llamas and cows, and also if it only seems to slow the aging and not stop it.

It really seems like EA has given up supporting this product. They crank new content for quick cash and don't care if it works. I'm getting so fed up with it.
I'm filing a Better Business Bureau complaint. They need to fix their product that users have paid for and expect to work.
I'm going to file a specific complaint regarding the Cottage Living expansion and associated bugs. This pack has been out for a year and a half and they continue to ignore problems that significantly impact game play.
