Re: [FIXED] [ECO] NAPs from all neighbourhoods are applied to visiting NPCs

I don’t know if there’s a solution to any of this but I need one. I’ve removed all NAPS from every neighborhood and I’ve disabled NPC voting. My two adult sims constantly bake cake, play with clay, do random romance interactions, give fake bad news, spawn like 90 clays in their inventory, will literally push themselves to the brink of death to do these actions if I’m not watching closely. The game is unplayable. Before I got rid of NAPS they visited neighborhoods with basically all the bugged NAPS in place, now that those plans are gone they are still doing the same stuff.

I need a way to fix this, would moving the family to a new save or a new lot work? The only solution I’ve seen On here is a mod and I really don’t want to mess up my game even more by downloading something like that, I don’t have any experience with mods or custom content.

@madibutler as of right now no there is no fix, if your on PC then there's a mod out there, I'm on PS4 so no mods for me. Even if you remove the naps through cheats or repeal them your sims get "infected" with hidden traits causing the chaos. The only solution is starting a new save and disabling NPC voting off. You will still get the notification saying the NAP took effect but if you check the mailbox it wont show it and you will see it didn't go into effe

  • @Dreadist do you think they’ll give me my money back... I really didn’t know I was paying $40 to completely ruin my game...
  • The game as it is, is totally unplayable at the moment. Sims stop 3 to 4 times while cooking, sleeping, feeding, doing any kind of action. They do not even attend toddlers, which could lead to social services showing up.

The most interesting thing is that I had a sim waking up (despite being exhausted) who decided to go nap in the hottub.

I am amazed by the fact that despite being all autonomous thinking diabled, Sims decide what to do. And that EA did not release a hotfix already which temporarily disables all NAPs and behaviour, while a real fix ships.

@madibutler try uploading those sims to mygallery and add them back into the household it will be like cloning them they should lose most of the stuff causing the bug but keeps traits, skills and jobs and lose relationships and items most of that can easily be rebuilt especially items you would still have the original sims. the family tree  poses to be a challenge on console. if it worked you could transfer items and delete the infected copies like i did. if the naps are still there tho it will probably happen again. a new save would most likely correct the issue pulling the household from mygallery most sim related stuff is saved if the sim is married or has a girlfriend they have to be in that household transfer or that is forgotten same for family kinda sucks to play on console at this time haven't been on the ps4 version much now i have more control on what can be done the pc version.....

@Myhideout @madibutler unfortunately they still have those hidden traits even putting them and taking them from the gallery..... I tried everything! Luckily I had a save right before Eco-Lifestyle which sucks because we all spent $40 on a unplayable pack.... I find it funny that a modder took time out of his own time and fixed it and we haven't heard nothing official from EA or the developers. I think this forum is just as a security blanket to make us believe that the developers are listening....

@madibutler @Dreadist (I play on PC, so not sure if this works on console) If you can enact/repeal NAPs through cheats, try this:

    1. Play a different family than the one you want to fix (but that knows them)
    2. Invite the bugged Sim(s) over
    3. Cheat enact the NAP(s) they're infected with
    4. Cheat repeal the NAP(s) while they're on the lot

That should remove the hidden traits, so when you go back to them, they'll be alright.  To avoid future problems, make sure NPC voting is off, and don't vote for the NAPs with annoying autonomy (just over half of them).

@Raynn0124That should work, I think the biggest problem is NAPs are effecting neighborhoods where they aren't active in. Like if Sharing is Caring is active in Windenburg, sims in Willow Creek will be stealing things.

Simvasion's mod should fix this if you play on PC. If you play on console, or don't want to use mods, the only other option is to go through every neighborhood and repeal all NAPs, and make sure NPC voting is off like you said.

  • On console its probably safest to go back to a clean file because once the stuff is there it is really hard to isolate every offending part that is causing the issues

i managed to get a little progress before i just went back to an old save funny thing is i never seen symptoms again using my gallery sims from that infected save but to be fair i refuse to play the console version further at the moment  till they further fix so maybe the issue is more persistent i do not know strange enough i have not ran into those nap glitches in forever just a bunch of new ones ...

Community lots are almost unusable with some of these NAPs, my sims were at a nightclub on a date and I couldn't complete more than three tasks because everyone and anyone was getting into brawls and my sims were either participating or watching instead of, you know, being on their date. It's maddening to have spend this money on a pack only to have to disable and mod away all of the gameplay elements because they make your game unplayable.

@EmeraldLaura and your point linking to another thread looks like a re-iteration of complaining the game is broken but half of what i see complaining about can be stopped so my argument that the game is still playable stands also the note "Parden our Dust" was probably a horrible sense of humor knowing the situation.... fix what you can avoid what does not work yet is about all we can do till they do their job they are more concerned getting the next pack out than fixing anything are you actually shocked?

@EmeraldLaurawell sorry either way EA likes to go with minimal effort on their part i almost always go with save as now checking and updating mods nearly every few days and just learn to avoid broken stuff it really does suck but anytime something goes wrong i go back but I assure you EA is not losing sleep over this. in fact i am actually shocked this bug post  has not been locked yet Now over a month old and more complaining than actual working on helping people mainly because everything that has helped people get past this problem has been said over and over its just not popular i guess everyone expects EA to fix it after a week i figured it will not be anytime soon.... it has been over a month it is more likely shelved as a minor glitch their microscopic sims 4 team is busy putting out the next thing to meet quota..... gotta love EA expect more broken stuff 🙂

  • @Myhideout this is a weak statement as custom created scriptmods cant be the ultimative solution of fixing elemental game issues. there are games that bring out patches every week including hotfixes (i dont name any) so the p(l)ayer have a clean game. a few persons are enough to find and fix issues. finding priorities is more the question

@EmeraldLaurait would be a weak statement if i did not agree with you they should fix it what i am saying is calling a game unplayable because everyone is relying on EA to fix something instead of hitting a checkbox and starting before damage occurs is too complex that we sit here and cry it is unfair is getting a little old it has been a month how about we learn and just complain about how EA sucks at what they do instead crying our game saves are broken? N.A.P.S cannot hurt your game at all disabled and that does not require scrip mods the pets annoying yes  the fabricator bug says fixed haven't seen that bug happen yet  since the update please by no means i am NOT  defending EA. i never said mods were the answer had you been reading this thread you would know i am highly angered by the fact i have a trash version  for the ps4 that i refuse to play anymore because IT has been bugged way before even Eco Living and they only made things worse.

And absolutely not one single word about this bug from the developers....... Oh but go ahead and fix a glitch that I haven't even experinced in the game according to the patch notes.........

  • @Dreadistyep and made sure to put out there that they have something for us coming to buy great sales strategy.... maybe we have to buy the new pack for the fix.....
