Re: [FIXED] [FR] Stuck on Residential Rental Lot type

Mine is also doing this, I’m having to move my sims to a new copy of my save because nothing I’ve tried has fixed it. It even shows the metal apartment ceilings and says there’s only one unit even though there’s outlines for 4 units and won’t let you see into the apartments at all as if you’re playing in a city living apartment, along with the saying it’s owned when it isn’t and having to sell it from the manage worlds screen, which still doesn’t fix it. it’s a mess honestly.

I did some testing on this but I can't make it happen.

Do you guys leave the game at some point or do you just have the wrong lot type after switching ?

    I tried:

    1. Evicting everyone, changing lot type to bar, placing bar from the gallery (it wouldn't let me change the lot type through the gallery, which is good cause that is known to have caused issues in the past). The lot type stayed bar (but I didn't restart the game)

    2. Switching a lot that was residential rental with lot types to residential, worked fine

    3. Switching a lot that was residential rental without lot types to residential, also worked fine.

Am I missing any steps ?

Something does seem to be wonky cause I also have lots of hits on my blog post on lot types becoming wrong but for this particular thing, I can't duplicate.

Has anyone in here NEVER used mods/cc or is on console ?

  • @crinrict Yes, I'm on PS5, no mods no cc. It's Tam Nan Sands and listed as residential but has the residential rental icon. It apparently has 3 units of which the second unit has a rent of S4,294,967,295 😂 there is nothing on the lot. I can't change it to anything else. I had an option to sell it for S2000 but nothing happened. After that, when I try to edit it, the game hangs on the lot. I have to restart the game to get the usual options for the lot.
  • @crinrict Sequence went like this:  downloaded one of my own builds (straightforward build been using with no issues).  Made slight changes as a residential build.  Brought sim in to occupy (had to use free real estate cheat as it's an expensive build).  Changed it to residential real estate and created the units.  Before I got to any gameplay, I decided it wasn't quite what I wanted, and I suspect this is where it went pear- shaped.  I evicted the Sim and bulldozed the lot, so thinking about it I maybe should have sold it before that, being new to the pack I didn't realise it was an option.  I had a previous save so it's not a big issue, but the lot is definitely broken.  I might try and recreate it, and this time sell the business before I evict and bulldoze.

    Hi @crinrict

Would you still like to receive saves and perhaps exceptions files? I have saves I can't open, a never ending loading screen and nothing happens. Every time I try an exception file is created, so somethings happens when I try to open the broken save.

I'm pretty sure it startede with a broken lot, caused by the For Rent pack.

Anyway, I'd be happy to send it to you.
