I am having the same issue. It only shows the character values for kids and teens in the simology panel. No traits or anything else
I’m on Xbox series S. Definitely not a mod issue since I can’t use them

In my game my adult sims are impacted as well.

Same issue with my teen, and he's the only household member so I can't check others. As well as not being able to check university acceptance, enroll, or travel without the screen going black and UI not working at that point so I can't get out without a force close.

I feel my entire game is broken. I play on PS5. Can’t go into CAS. I’m gameplay I can’t access build/buy. Can’t access the panel. Can’t even get the save menu to pop up when hitting the start button. If I go to the phone and click travel, my screen goes black. I’ve never had an update affect my game like this.

Hey all,
The accepted solution to this thread has been updated with the below information:
Update: We are currently in the process of testing a fix for the issues reported in this thread that we hope to release as soon as possible. Please stay tuned here for any further updates as I get them. - @EA_Cade Could you please specify which issues might be fixed by the emergency patch?
Sims being mean autonomously and the UI plain not working are obviously a priority? Please fix this before the new pack releases. I fear I’ve put too much trust in EA for pre-ordering. This is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Not a good look. Sorry to the sims team who is probably working overtime trying to fix this bug caused by EA rushing things as always
Also having issues traveling in addition to Simology panel, and other panel issues. Any ETA for us?
For Rent expansion was just as awful. Same with the Horse Ranch.
I recommend not playing the Sims 4 for 2 'sprints' (development cycle) during expansion releases and never, ever, ever pre-purchase because you will not be able to play the game when it releases - particularly if you've ever purchased an expansion in the past.
It seems like they only test new expansions with the Base game because there is always some "if own [insert broken pack here] it breaks the new expansion" case.- @StarChaserT Hello, I pre-purchased for the first time, this is the reason for the bug ? You mean I can't play with the game tomorrow ?
@juca280390No, apologies - I meant you are taking a serious risk each time you pre-purchase a Sims 4 expansion due to extremely buggy releases. The odds of you having a bad experience go up exponentially with each pack you purchase because it raises the potential to conflict with other expacs. Kind of like how folks are about mods that conflict, only EA conflicts with their own stuff :D
More like you bought a ticket to play Russian roulette. Your game could be really buggy or not impact you at all. This is the first update where my game sucks like the rest of gen pop, usually I am able to skate by with a normal update.
Same here. No other update has given me this much trouble before! Even historically broken patches/DLCs (like For Rent) did not affect my gameplay as bad as yesterday's patch. It sucks and I hope an emergency patch or rollback comes out soon.

The modding community and their fixes (so much better and faster than EA's) are the only reason I still play Sims. I have loved the game since Sims 1 but I won't be buying the love expansion until it's been out long enough for the modder community to fix whatever EA breaks. Might not buy it at all, given how majorly borked the game is after this latest patch. I certainly won't be getting Sims 5 for at least 10-15 years. I stuck with my beloved Sims 2 until it became unplayable on the current version of Windows. Plan to stick with Sims 4 until Microsquish stops me. Never bothered with Sims 3 because Sims 2 still worked for me when 3 was being sold.
All my love to the devs. I'm sure it's marketing and the C-suite that force the game to be released in a beta state with players as unpaid and unwilling beta testers. - NeutrinaEditora12 months agoSeasoned Vanguard

I dont understand why its so hard to get updates on this. I can understand a problem with the update but when its game breaking EA could atleast update us more. Ive found 3 post from you saying its being looked into and to expect updates but its not really telling us anything. I would just like to be informed before I just get over this sims phase. It's been two, going on three, days for me already. I will obviously not be investing in the new pack. This is ridiculous.

Please update us soon! My game is unplayable as it is.
@EA_Cade Hey I get that you guys are extremely busy fixing this bug and I know many of us value all the hard work you’re doing, however there a lot of us who are completely unable to play and with the expansion pack releasing today plus the weekend coming up we would very much appreciate a little more frequent updates. They don’t have to be very detailed, just enough for us to know the status and to give us the confidence and reassurance that EA is seeing this as a high priority.
EA- You need to take back the update.. this is unacceptable to put out an update and have the game unplayable and just leave it with the users.. you roll it back, fix it and then re release it. My husband is an IT guy and if he did this at his job he would be fired.
