Re: [FIXED] [GTW] Detective can't interrogate suspect

We are trying to get to the bottom of this. Can those of you having this problem try something for us?

DO NOT change the interrogation table when it glitches out and won't let you interrogate.

Click on the sim you want to interrogate and choose the interaction from there.

Does it work that way for you?

I have not edited anything in the lot. I've tried starting interrogation on the table and on the suspect. I've also tried clicking the "lock in cell" option, but it seems the suspect is stuck behind the bars without being able to get out.

For what it's worth, I've also been running into this same issue, and none of the posted fixes have worked. Rebuying the table has no effect, even when keeping it in the same default color, repairing the game does nothing, restarting the game does nothing. Haven't tried a full-scale start from a fresh game yet, due to how long it takes to re-start from scratch and speed through downtime between work days.

Basically, what happens is that clicking 'interrogate' from the table does nothing and doesn't add anything to the action queue, and the suspect doesn't have an interrogate option when I click them.

Out of curiosity, could it be linked to the fact that I'm currently in the second-day event of the detective career? I wonder if interrogation is locked during that event. (I managed to have a sim at level 3 of the career before I even started due to being autopromoted from having A-grades as a teen.)

update: Okay, that seems to be the issue. I started a new game and had a sim arrest a suspect during their second-day event, but wasn't able to interrogate them (the option didn't appear in the social menu, and the table interaction didn't affect the action queue) However, when I had the sim do their next work day, it seemed like an entirely new case had started, and I was able to interrogate the suspect of that case just fine. I'll have to check if waiting until the next day also fixes interrogation in my main save, but this seems like the most likely cause right now.

Willing to share your save game ?

If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves and drop the file to this Mediafire-Link to upload.

Please make sure to name the zip file with your user name.

Yeah, let me do some more debugging first. I didn't think to save the fresh save I reproed the issue on, so I'll have to replay everything.

Alright, this time, I did a completely fresh start by moving my old Sims 4 directory to a backup, and I was still able to repro the issue. Looks like during the Day 2 tutorial event, you simply won't be able to interrogate the suspect you bring in, and the interrogation table simply won't work despite showing the option to interrogate. Interrogation worked for the suspect in the next case, so it seems like the fix is to just wait til the next non-tutorial case.

I uploaded the saves I used to the filedrop.

And in case it helps, I'm on version 1.24.102.1020 with Get To Work, Get Together, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Dine Out, and Backyard Stuff installed.

Also, on a related note, during this test run, I saw a bug on Day 1 where all the criminals disappeared from the police station after returning from the crime scene, as well a bug with the first non-tutorial suspect where she didn't match most of the given clues. (I was given clues for an adult male with red hair and ended up having to arrest an adult female with black hair.)

    Thanks.

    I'll test tonight

EDIT: Thanks. Tested, duplicated and forwarded
