Happen to me as well, in a vanilla game on a new install on a new laptop that I bought a few weeks ago. Hadn't played for long, so my stash wasn't that big. Still it was a lot of hard work on a Rags to Riches sim that - litterally - lost everything, and I lost the desire to play.
