Re: [FIXED] Household members turning into neighbors/ Can't use doors
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.69.59.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have all but, Game Packs : Stars War, Spa Day, and Outdoor Retreat Stuff Packs: Moschino, Fitness, Bowling Night, Vintage Glamour, Movie Hangout, Perfect Patio, Luxury
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no idea. I do not know what action made it happen.
What happens when the bug occurs? My neighbor is listed as neighbor in his own house. While he is playable, I have to keep the doors unlocked for all Sims in order for him to enter and I am not able to click on him to do "self actions" like stretch before climbing and meditating as a vampire.
What do you expect to see? I expect my sim not to be labeled as a neighbor in the house I am playing in and to be able to be clicked on to person "self actions".
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
Randomly, my sim became a neighbor. At which point, I am not sure. He was building a rocket and had to shower, but when I tried to bring him inside, he wasn't able to go in. I removed the door and added arches thinking maybe the doors were glitched. After the shower, I wanted to mediate cause his vampire energy was low and I noticed I was unable to click on him! Plus, he was also listed as a neighbor! I am able to move him around and interact with objects (and I unlocked the doors to the house so he is able to go in), but I cannot click on him. He is living in a prebuilt house and he is the only sim in the household. He is living on the Snowy Escapes map.
Things I've already tried:
I backed out to manage worlds. And went back in. - No Fix
I exited and saved the games. Closed origin launcher from task manager. - No Fix
I invited another sim to move into my house. I could play and click on the other sim as normal and they were not labeled as neighbor, but the problem remained. I kicked the other sim out afterwards and still not change. - No Fix
I backed out and created a sim to join the household. - No Fix
I moved my sim out of the household onto another lot and tried to return. I could buy the original house back, but only completely unfurnished. This is a very expensive and time consuming option. - Potential Fix
I tried having another sim move-in with him and then moving just him out while keeping the other sim on the lot. I could not figure out a way to do this. - Potential Fix
Currently, as a hopeful last resort, I plan on sending my sim to college after moving someone in with him. Hopefully, this is keep the house and will fix the "neighbor" tag above his head.
If you have an easier solution to this problem or a way to prevent this from happening again, please let me know.
