There are more mermaids, one called Calipso and another one living by the volcano. They won't die either. I have tried emotional cheats to kill them. U can't drown them since they are mermaids. Best shot would be to try and kill them with my magician Sims fire spell. And it seems other people have tried other routes to kill them. I haven't tried to kill my female mermaid, only the elders. They are pretty much immortal at this point. I hoped they would die of old age. The youngest male sim was a mermaid before, I don't know if the same applies to him since he was a mermaid from birth or if changing his occult fixed the problem. It isn't the kelp since my female was a mermaid from birth and based on the information you gave me, she can't be killed.
Best thing would proabably be to eat the kelp SK they’re human sims again. Don’t think mermaids will be able to die until EA patches the problem

Oh wow that’s annoying. Did you eat two pieces of kelp to make sure they weren’t a mermaid anymore ? And also check that their needs bar says hygiene again
- alanmichael16 years agoSeasoned Ace@Rumplestiltsim Yes, he was fully transformed back. However I wonder what role the maxing out of the fitness skill plays. Probably all mermaids are maxed out from endless swimming.
They ate kelp twice and didn't change back to human then died? I did that for mine and they died right away.

A Sim with the Active trait should live 10% longer and with the Long Lived trait 25% longer. An Active Sim with the Longevity trait should live 35% longer than a Sim without these traits. Mermaids get a boost to their days living too. I think the active skill affects it too? I use MCCC so I can see the days left including bonus days, and on a long life span my Fitness 10 Mermaid Sim got 106 bonus days (days after the death warning!)!
