@msomers1115 - Maybe... but I wouldn't bet on it. The Lot that got hit with this bug just today doesn't have any of it. No guitar on the Lot at all, and no items placed from the Holiday freebies. I've had both since they were released and none of it is placed on the current Lot.
I feel if we weren't forced online this might not happen.
What's also interesting to note is when I had the error I memorized every item I used and nothing was actually removed.

Yeah, that's the exceptionally weird part about this bug. As far as anyone can tell, the notice is a lie. I have gotten it when it makes sense, like placing a Lot from the Gallery made with content I didn't own, or (on the PC version) after removing CC I didn't want anymore. But on PS4 I've been getting it randomly and nonsensically. BTW, online isn't obligatory. You just lose out on Gallery access. I've lost my connection a few times while playing and the game wasn't interrupted. I only got a notice saying my connection dropped and I won't be able to access online features until I log back in. Not sure why some are under the impression that it's required, but I know people who play entirely offline with no issues.

It's the EA app. If I log off and start the game, the app opens and says I need to log in. Not sure if that's another bug or not. I think I can simply remove the online features in options, but not the actual logging in to my account.
As for the issue, that's exactly what happened to me. New save after a full reinstall and repair. No CC, no mods, just me building my home with my paid for packs. I own every pack and the dust kit. I don't know why it stopped after I joined the newsletter and it confirmed content I had since the beginning, but I'm hoping it won't return, though it probably will if that's not the problem.

Yeah, logging on is necessary. I think they do it for security. Between pirates and that huge ATF scandal a couple years back, I'm sure they feel some need to monitor things. It's not required to stay logged in though. Just for startup. As for the main problem, I have that holiday stuff on both PS4 and PC. Been getting this bug flare up a couple of times a week on PS4. Not sure about PC. I don't play it as much as I have less content on that version. Missing about half purely in terms of overall cost. On PS4 I have everything except 3 Stuff Packs and 11 Kits.

being online -IS- obligatory for this game, for a lot of us sadly… ever since the new EA app, it will not load correctly if you’re off-line and it will not let you load the game. Regardless of what it’s “supposed” to do.
Doesn’t matter if you connected to the gallery or not, but if your computer does not have a strong Internet connection, we cannot even start up the game because it is now locked behind the EA app, which requires Internet to initialize correctly on PC.
I have inconsistent, Internet access, and have not been able to play this game sometimes because of it, very sad since I bought it understanding it was supposed to be an off-line ok game

@Starrceline - I haven't played as much on PC since switching over to the EA app from Origin. Mainly because I have much more content on the PS4 version. I can't say much what changes were made, but if online is required, I'm sure I can imagine why. As mentioned before, there is no shortage of game pirates, and there have also been some controversies concerning inappropriate mods. As such, they likely feel the need to keep people tied to the monitoring system. PS4 only requires a connection for the Gallery because there is far less piracy on consoles and you can't install mods without jailbreaking your system, which most players don't do.

I think I have the same issue as everyone else? I randomly started getting the Items Removed message a couple of months ago but couldn't figure out what was missing, so I ignored it. About 2 weekends ago I had one of my played sims move in with another, and as I was going through the family inventory I noticed that everything was there, but some of the items were bugged, and they seemed to be mainly items from the University pack. My Sim's graduation photo and a bunch of robotics parts, and I think a couple of other photos. The photos showed up as black boxes with a ? inside, and if I try to place them in the world I see 'System Error'. The parts, I placed them into the world to try to get my sim to pick them up and put them back in his inventory, but once placed in the world, the parts were kind of transparent and I couldn't click on them. I had to go back into Build Mode to move them back into the family inventory. But what's even weirder is I think these bugged items are in my sim's personal inventory as well. For example, he should only have 2 graduation photos because he completed 2 degrees, but he had 2 photos in his personal inventory and the bugged one in his family inventory.
I am using mods in my game now to help with some other annoyances, but this issue was happening before I installed them. I tried clearing cache (game cache AND EA app cache), removing mods, repairing game, nothing helped.

@Arsynal - The bug with photos in the Household Inventory is its own separate issue that's supposed to be patched in the next update, in conjunction with the release of the Horse Ranch Expansion. I stumbled on posts and notices about this a few days ago.

@iamsweetmysteryThanks for letting me know! I was searching for threads with the photo bug and couldn't find any recent ones. Great to know it's not related although I'm still curious about my other bugged University items... they're the only weird thing I've noticed since I started getting the Items Removed pop-ups.
