Re: [FIXED] Lot taxes seem too low

@Pegasyms Exactly. There is currently zero challenge. It's not like our sims have anything expensive to spend their money on. My richest sims have a ton of money coming in, even without jobs, due to the shrewd reward. But I can't buy a pricey car, can't purchase a second home, vacationing is relatively cheap, college is basically free... All I had were my bills.

  • Agree, this is ridiculous. My tiny house on one lot costs $400 and bills for my mansion worth 670,000 that has NO solar panels or anything is $480. It makes no sense at all. If this is not a bug, I'll have to find a mod because it is completely unrealistic.

@RevanARahl If you ever find that mod, please post here and let us know. I haven't found any modders willing to fix this problem. Well, Zero said she'd she what she could do but I'm not holding my breath.
  • @RevanARahl Thanks for the tip - looks like SNB has been updated! It’s the only fix there seems to be for the moment, and as this thread is marked ‘Unsure’ despite it clearly being a bug we won’t be getting anything from EA any time soon, so I’m installing it now!

It definitely is especially since the new bill system was so highly touted in the livestream.

Like many others posting on this thread, I too think the bills are far too low, before the new system my sims on the big mansion in Brindleton Bay, were paying around 20k simoleons in bills, which was a small amount for them, now they are paying a max of 600 simoleons, just seems like a tiny amount to pay compared to before the patch for sims who currently have a total of 10 million simoleons that keeps growing whereas before it seemed like they were actually seeing that bills would make a dent in the total funds.

    Me too!

It seems we're in agreement that the lot taxes are bugged. But what's with the penalties? I haven't seen any on my main game, but since it glitched with the dreaded 134:b378c837, I started a new game and was faced with this:

@ElecyahHover your cursor over 'Tax Breaks & Penalties' and it will explain in detail for that lot.

  • @janysesAnd it says: 'Bill surcharge Items On Lot.' I still don't understand. What items on her starter house lot can cause that big of a penalty when the mansion dwellers have none?

edit: I don't have the Eco pack, so I sure hope my sim isn't getting penalized for that. 🤔

@ElecyahSome build mode items decrease your bills, while others increase it. Your starter house must have some of these materials. For example, certain roof types add a surcharge while certain wallpapers provide a discount:

  • @janyses Oh, wow. That's probably it, then. I had not thought to look at *building materials* for it. For me items mean stuff.
Yes, just looked and that it's actually that Corrugated Metal roofing that the house has on. Thank you!
  • /push (still the basic taxes are at 300 mostly, independent on build textures)

@janyses So true, I wish university was not that cheap, and also that we have very expensive cars to spend money on and second home... and the bills... its not just about the 300 simoleons, its also about the water/electricity consuption that is ridiculous in my opinion. We should be struggleling to pay the bills...
