So it IS the same ?

  • Same bug for me as well. CAS edit mode workaround does work for me temporarily when I put both sliders all the way to the top, exit CAS, re-enter CAS and move the fat slider all the way to the bottom. The CAS workaround becomes undone as soon as I save the game from Live mode.

Since the bug seems to have been fixed for a lot of settings, can you tell us exactly what settings you have yours on ?

Maybe with a picture would be the best.

@tsukuri_8 Answers HQ is mainly player help forum and @crinrict is doing her very best in running this board and gathering your feedback on bugs and trying to find workarounds. She is a fellow player taking her own free time to do this, behaving like you are is not a manner that is welcomed here on Answers HQ.

While this board is monitored by employees, like us Community Managers and people from the studio, for feedback and identified bugs we generally don't provide official statements on status of investigation into reported bugs.

What I can say at this point regarding this specific bug, is that we have been made aware and will look into it.

In the future if you wish to continue posting on Answers HQ, please mind your behavior and tone - be friendly and polite to those you expect help from. If you have any further questions, please feel free to send me a private message.

    Regards,

@EA_Kristi This bug is here from the day of release. From. The. First. *. Day. No wonder people are frustrated.

@rostsit Being frustrated is understandable, but this does not excuse being rude to others!

With that said, this is a place for issues with Sims 4, so let us drop this discussion. If you have any further feedback on behavior, feel free to send me a private message.

I'm going to make one last post on this issue since I feel I need to clarify some stuff

    1. I do this because I enjoy it. I do this on my own time and I'm not being paid or compensated for it. No one asked me to do it, I've volunteered. Me doing this does not prevent EA from doing the same cause they would not. Bugs would not be collected and compiled, it would just be a forum full of stuff that EA/Maxis would read but you would never ever get any feedback for it. Because of this, I ask to post in a calm and non-ranting manner as most people do although they are upset.
    2. I maintain this forum for two reasons: I want to make sure, everyone gets help and know that they are not alone if it's really a bug. I try to find out, what's a bug, what's mod related and what's a one time glitch or a misunderstanding. In fact, I'm trying to 'den Spreu vom Weizen trenne' as we say and keep a list for easier finding. The second purpose is to make it easier for EA/Maxis to know what they need to fix. By finding out if it's a bug or not.  they know what they need to concentrate on and the 'Me Too' and number of answers give them an indication, how bothersome something is. I also try to get as much info from people so they can actually replicate it. While I do try to find the right questions to ask, that's not always an easy thing to do.
    3. You came in here before the patch ranting and raving on how this was not fixed after one year and demanded it be done right away. While I understand your frustration about stuff you feel strongly about, this is by no means game breaking FOR MOST PLAYERS. I'm not saying that applies to you but to most, there are issues that are much more important. Culling, Time Freeze, crashing, resets, stuff that makes you not able to play at all. Since I knew there was a patch coming and that it was going to be a huge one, I've tried to calm you down although I do ask not to rant in this forum as I don't enjoy reading or helping with those and do usually skip them.
    4. The patch came and oh wonder, there was actually a fix which fixed the issue for the OP and other users in this forum. It wasn't for you hence you ranted and raved some more, demanding that the solved mark needs removing as it's not solved.
    5. I stated that I thank you for your feedback and that I will leave it open on the list. The workaround mark stays as - while it might not be a valid one for you - it was for most other users. I still wanted it to stay highlighted. I even forwarded this as I do with every bug that's supposed to be fixed and is not but I don't state that cause it's not my place to say the studio is aware of something unless I've seen an actual statement of dev somewhere. I don't want to raise expectations I can't fulfill. My powers are very limited.
    6. You choose to make a new thread and go on ranting. I've merged that with this one and explained to you why
    7. You choose to make yet another one which I left and did not merge (I'm not sure if someone else did but that was certainly not me). I've decided that if you want your own thread, you can have it but don't expect me to do anything about it.
    8. Someone else then posted they have the same issue and to make SURE they have it on the same settings as you do, I've asked THEM (not you) to post pictures and tell me what settings they are on. How can you know they have the same ones as you ? Yet you had to belittle me and say stuff that's simply isn't true.
    9. That's why a CM stepped in and I'm pretty sure @EA_Kristi is aware of the whole conversation.

That's all I have to say and I would like to ask everyone to not further derail this thread. There's a PM system and Kristi has said that you are welcome to PM her if you need to further discuss this. I would like to go back to the matter at hand.

I'm wishing everyone a very merry XMas and a happy new year

@crinrict What settings did you ask about? Sorry, I didn't find which question belongs to which post. I will post my settings you need, but i won't post pictures - the "fix" changed absolutely NOTHING for me, it looks the same, just as others posted.

P.S. I didn't try a workaround because I don't see any use in it - all my sims do sports a lot, so I would need to edit them daily to keep the correct textures.

@crinrict Oh, that. Well, with my playing style it's obviously max for muscles and min for fat. But I double-checked this with cheat-code - and I was right, it is max and min. While on that, I also checked that workaround - it works. Still only temporary.

  • This still seems to be a problem - sometimes.

I have been happily playing and noticed nothing wrong until today. One of my Sims got sick while at the gym and had the spotty rash. When I got home to buy some medicine - I noticed that the muscle definition was *also* wrong. The less-muscular texture persisted after the Sim was cured of his illness, so I double-checked in CAS - and sure enough, the muscle slider was at maximum, the fat slider was at minimum, and the texture in CAS was different from the in-game skin texture.

    http://i64.tinypic.com/2l9jwaw.jpg

So, I cranked the fat-slider up to around 10% for all my Sims and the work-around still worked. I wish I had thought to leave CAS without making any changes to see if it reset itself.

Sadly, this still seems to be an issue - at least in the case of a temporary change to skin texture such as the rash overlay.

  • Tested this in a fresh new game with very strange results. I noticed that my test Sim (from the gallery) had the wrong muscle tone.

Sim in CAS - muscle max, fat min: http://i67.tinypic.com/1ys30y.jpg

Sim in game - saved Sim, but made no changes: http://i65.tinypic.com/2i0pv61.jpg

Sim in CAS again - changed muscle slider to min and back to max, changed fat slider to max and then back to min: http://i67.tinypic.com/16lh4zs.jpg

Sim in game after save: http://i68.tinypic.com/fvefbl.jpg

It's looking to me like changes to the muscle tone from in-game actions (like working out or getting a rash) sometimes causes the wrong skin texture to appear - but unlike before, the fat slider can go all the way to minimum but *must be changed in CAS* in order to make the correct texture reappear.

Could anyone else who is having this problem confirm?
