Re: [FIXED] [NKSP] Can't add knitted clothing to wardrobe

I've been noticing this problem since Cottage Living came out but I'm unsure if it started before that or not. Sometimes reknitting items will unlock them so I can add them. Sometimes not. I am able to clear items from my inventory by selling on Plopsy though because otherwise I cannot sell them outright or delete them or give them away to charity. It just takes several Sim days to do so.

Frustrating.

This happens whether or not I have mods in the game or am playing in my save that uses no mods whatsoever. I've done full repairs as well.

@Keijra Have you noticed if playing another household has any impact? I'm going to try reknitting the items too although it does not help to the current issue where I'd want to wear the item right away..

It doesn't seem to make any difference if I switch households or not. The only way I've found to get it to work is to get rid of the first item somehow and reknit it.

Which, like you said, doesn't help the issue of wanting to wear the item right away.
  • Hi,

I'm currently having this same issue. my knitting skill is at 10 and it says that I need either a knitting skill of 5 or 9 to add any sweater type to my sims wardrobe.

I don't know if it's related to this bug, but when I search for any knitted garment/accessory in wardrobe, there are always two icons, one locked and one active, I can always find the item in one or the other.
(In the picture you can see the blue beanie, locked on the left and active on the right)

Same for me as well: one locked main icon, but the swatch I knitted is accessible.

I was having trouble with adding knitted items to the wardrobe in my old saved game, but in the new one I'm playing it's working fine so far.

I still need to try and see how it works if I gift a knitted item to a Sim out of my household and rotate to them to see if I can add it or by selling them on the mannequins in a store.

I too am now having this bug, but only if I don't immediately "Add to Wardrobe".  My knitter started making all of the clothes they'd want in CAS once they unlocked knitting as a child, but since they'd be moving out of the family and therefore lose all of the items, I had them just sit on the knitted clothes until they went to Uni.  That's where I learned that the hours I had them spend knitting was for naught because they can't be added after time passes after completion.  That is a lot of wasted inventory space and simoleans.
