Re: [FIXED] Parent needs to be introduced to infant

Found a way to fix it without nanny/butler or another sim. Shift+click on your infant, select "Set relationship", search for "Already met (hidden)" and voila! ))

@jdbennington I'm wondering if the ability to 'set relationship' is an option that comes from a mod. It sounds like something you'd see with MCCC. I'm currently playing in a mod free save and I don't see that option.

    Best regards,

    Jennifer

@jdbennington testingcheats enabled? This is standard debug option, not mod related. Sequence is following: select your parent sim and shift-click on infant, don't go to cheat pie menu, choose other variants until "Relations (code)" pie menu appear, go there, click "Add relationship", there will be the list of them, search for "Already met (hidden)" and click on it. Thats all))

@jdbennington this issue is not trait related, made this trick with sims having it and not, it is in-game feature not to add this relBit to parents, this is the only thing that prevents interactions with infants

Sorry for another response, so I did what you suggested and there is no option for (already met) I can add a relationship bit, but then when I clicked make good friends it wouldn’t do anything. I’m worried I can never fix this

@webjen0135 yes, raising friendship level even interacting with a newborn does not add this bit, technically newborn is still an object like furniture you can even become bff's with, but when the newborn ages up and the game recognizes it as person, this significant bit is missing, you never met this sim, that's impossible irl, but for some reason enforced by developers. Looks strange you could not find this option, it is standard debug menu, not any mod related. Are the testingcheats enabled in your game? I easily fixed all my households with infants this way ( NOT the newborns, there's no such an option on them, you can not even rename them until they age up to infants)

@RASMUS_MASSIEFor me it is. When I removed the beloved trait for the caregiver sim before the baby is born, I do not get this issue. When the caregiver has this the beloved is when I have this issue. I already tested it. So I know it the beloved trait is the cause of my issue.   This issue existed before infants.    But with toddlers, I can reset the caregiver sim, and do an introduction.   It was a  little nuisance.  Now it is a problem.  If there are more issues than the beloved trait issue, maybe it needs to be split up this topic.    I been hear early on with this topic, many people have issues with the beloved trait for the caregiver giving this issue.

@jdbennington - Yeah, with Toddlers, you can introduce yourself. Not so with Infants. This one simple fact pushed this glitch from minor annoyance to major nuisance. For those who don't manage to find the workarounds like we all have, it could even be game-breaking for them.
