Re: [FIXED] Reaper's Rewards: GUI not showing tasks

Mine was going pretty well. I had one task left: ask the spirits about ambrosia using the seance table. I hadn't done it yet because I couldn't afford the seance table. My Sim has the active career of Actor. He went to his first gig and I went with him. When we returned home, he'd earned enough money to buy the table, and we did, but the task was no longer showing; it was blank. I thought maybe we could still do it, since I knew what it was, but the option to ask the spirits about ambrosia was not offered on the table. Very frustrating.

This is a follow-up to my earlier post.

I tried a combo of things I read here and had success!

I deleted the localthumbcache.package and moved the accountDataDB.package to somewhere else. I did not remove my mods folder. The only script mod it had was MCCC. It also had a small amount of custom content (hair, clothes).

When I first reloaded my game, all it showed me was my progress on the quest and a little grimmie in the upper left. The rewards I'd earned were there, but no task list. I was disappointed. But something made me decide to try using the Grim-o-phone radio to summon Grim (which was one of the tasks I'd already done). That actually caused the whole task list to pull up again! I had to redo some of the tasks, but it was no biggie. At least I got the task list back!

My seance table now had the option to ask the spirits about ambrosia, and I was able to do that, too, so I successfully completed the first week of the Challenge.

What does the accountDataDB.package do? I don't want to mess up my game if something happens after having it recreated.

Or just wait if the devs will fix this?

I don't know everything it does, but I know that's one of two locations your rewards are stored. Judging by the name, it's an account database, and probably pulls information from other files within the game to populate its tables. If something got corrupted when being pulled in from the Reaper Challenge, yanking it will allow the tables to be recreated, hopefully without corruption.

I put my original file in a safe place until I was sure I was happy with what the newly generated file was doing, in case I wanted to put it back.

@phyllisp160I don't feel conformable for doing this workaround. I read this also breaks your previous event rewards.

You should only do what makes you comfortable.

Did a full reinstall with the game, and that's fixed all my issues, but I haven't put my accountdatabase package back in to the game with my original rewards, or any of my previous saves, and I won't be adding any of my mods back until this reward event is over.

Thanks for this! Not ideal of course but it works! Didn't have to take out my mods and I got my tasks back, have to make sure you have the gramophone first though. No CAS or Manage Worlds for now until this nonsense is fixed if I want to play the event...
