I had this too and it was fixed after I closed and relaunched the game

Lol. I did this and it delivered the mail but nothing happened when I read the newsletter. And now the task bar has disappeared from the left.
i had the same issue , i wasn't sure if it was connected to the lot ( she lived in a rental ) or if it was something else but i have been repairing the game with the rest so i will try again tomorrow, fingers crossed it will work, it would be nice to be able to complete the quest 🙂
