Re: [FIXED] Reaper's Rewards: Wait for/Read Newsletter Task Not Completing

This task is not completing. I have tried several times without success. I collect the newsletter from the mail and read it but nothing happens. I've clicked on the Cooking and Gardening Lesson and read through them thinking that might be it but the task still didn't complete. All of the sims in the household I am playing have a high Cooking and Gardening skill. I have removed the Turbodriver lag fix mod I was using and repaired the game. I am waiting to see if that has fixed the issue but I am making this post in case that was not the reason the event has bugged out.

    Sounds like this is probably a bug, I'm experiencing this too. Some have suggested moving or replacing the mailbox to get the newsletter delivered, but this did not work for me. I hope they fix this soon!

    @JaylatheBookworm The letter arriving in the mail should tick that task.

    Did you move your mods folder to the desktop, delete the localthumbcache file and try on a new save game ?

    There's several mods/cc interfering.

    @crinrict I am CURRENTLY playing in a new save, having done the troubleshooting you advised in another reaper related glitch.  I don't use mods or cc EVER, too much trouble.  Let me know if you want my save!  I do currently have a scenario playing out, the plant a sim scenario.  (If you want to test, I'm not particularly attached to it or this new save, willing to forego the scenario to test.). Oh!  I got the letter, read it, clicked ONE of the lessons, and it didn't check off.  

    (For clarity purposes, on my old save, there was a scenario running in another household, the tasks showed up when I first loaded and cleared, but when coming back to the game they disappeared.

    Finally, I can solve the problem. I couldn't play with my sim and had to raise my skills again, but I'm happy to receive event compensation.

    I had The Ambrosia Society Newsletter delivered. I went to get it out of the mailbox and it just disappeared!!!! I'm playing on a mac with no Customs/Mods. I do have The Sims 4 basegame as well as Realm of Magic, Vampires, and I think Growing together,

    All I really did was loaded into another family saved the game over my main save then loaded back into my main family, I had 9 in my sims inventory so I moved it into another sims from the same house and opened it and it seemed to change the logo and ticked it off. Or could try another way if it doesn’t is when (hopefully) you do receive the newsletter leave it in the inventory then save, load into another family see if the logo of the mail box changes to a pink envelope then save and go back to your main family and then hopefully it works. Fingers crossed hope this works.
