Re: [FIXED] Save Code Error: 0

@oreosimmer01  Please create a new save and see whether you can save your progress.  If you can, then the issue is probably your existing save, but you can try recovering a backup copy, as described here:

https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/recover-backup-save-game/

If you can't save your progress in the new save, try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save, again, and see whether you can save your progress.

If the new save in the new folder works, you can copy over your existing save and test it as well.  If it still gives you trouble, use the manual method to recover the backups and add them to the new folder as well, then see whether you can save with any of those.

If you do see an error message at any point, please post a screenshot.

@oreosimmer01 Do you have any files called Slot_000000xx.save.tmp ? If so, try moving those to the desktop and see if you can save again (xx = random number)
  • Yes I did. I removed them and the same thing happened again. It said error code 0 failed to save. *sigh* 😔

I started a new save and it works perfectly. So I’m guessing my other save is corrupted. How do I fix this?

  • I tried recovering a backup but I’ve saved so many times that the last one is from today. It saves the first time and then it shows the error code 0 from then on.

  • Thank you. I am bringing my computer to a shop so they can maybe fix the corrupted file today. In a couple days I can probably send you a copy of my electronic arts folder. But thank you for your guys’ help. 🙂

  • So the computer shop said they couldn’t fix it. They tried renaming the file, copying the file, clearing the cache folder, etc. Nothing worked. I will upload a copy of my EA folder and save files tomorrow.
