Re: [FIXED] Sim ages while in CAS

In my household with 2 adults and 1 child, each time in CAS the child gets 1 day younger, one adult 1 day older and one adult stays the same.

Unfortunately this also happens if you send them to CAS via Manage Worlds.

@crinrict Are you already playing with an early copy of Get Famous? Perhaps that fixes the bug.

I've added some info to the second post.

It is indeed the expansion that fixes this bug which is why I couldn't replicate it. Disabling the pack allowed me to see it.

It's also happening in my game, all packs, completely vanilla. I can't say it affects vampires, while their age bar does show a green bit from time to time, their age doesn't seem to change. That said, I only tested with one vampire. My other Sims keeps getting older and older every time I go into CAS.

It's good to know that GF will fix this (I can play in build mode for a couple of days) but I suppose they'll need to release a fix for those that won't get the pack. At least, it would be nice if they did, the game is essentially unplayable with this bug.

I'm unsure at this point but as long as you don't take them to CAS, you should be fine

Best to try it out on a backup and let us know :D

    Product: The Sims 4
    Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.47.49.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Seasons, Vampires and Dine Out.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use a dresser or mirror to change your sim's appearance. This happened on a save with and without mods.
What happens when the bug occurs? Every time I use a dresser or mirror to change my sim, they age up after I exit CAS. Even if the sim was at the beginning of a life stage, they age up to the next stage after coming out of CAS.
What do you expect to see? After I exit CAS they should remain the age they were when they entered.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Issue only occurred after the updating to the latest patch, 1.47.49.1020.

  • My sims were half way through young adult when I checked their ages tonight. Three sims that I had just made the moment I loaded the game up tonight. I made these sims and entered build mode the second the lot loaded up, so I don't know if they started that way, or if build mode also causes the issue.

I then tested entering CAS. All three of the sims were at max age. Disabling aging obviously stops it, though. Although, I didn't check to see if non-played sims were also aging. None of the passersby seemed to age, but I didn't check to make sure.

    Edit, tried the tutorial.

The sim I created for the tutorial also aged up when I entered CAS. I tested it once I played through the tutorial.

As for being half-way through life stage, that happened in the tutorial as well, but that looks like a conflict between modded life stage lengths. Sims start at the base age. So 24 days until adult from young adult. Seems to completely ignore the mod.

And yes, I did try without mods. The only thing that changed was that my sims weren't halfway through their life stage.
